Utopia Talk / Politics / Trump-forces attacked moms

rank | Tue Jul 21 15:47:34 2020 Trump-forces attacked peaceful protesters with teargas and flash bangs. I’m waiting for the EU to call on the Trump-forces to respect people’s rights to protest peacefully. A Group Of Moms Formed A Human Wall To Protect Portland Protesters From Federal Officers A group of more than 30 moms created a barricade to protect hundreds of protesters from federal officers during demonstrations against police brutality and racism in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday. The women stood for a few hours outside the courthouse before federal officers used tear gas and flash bangs to disperse the crowd. Federal officers, deployed in Portland by President Trump since last week, have led to escalating tensions in the city after protesters said the officers were violating their civil rights by roaming the streets in unmarked vans and detaining people without probable cause. http://www...tland-protest-federal-officers |

rank | Wed Jul 22 00:42:01 2020 According to the head of the agency President Trump did not deploy the officers and they have been there for quite a while just not in current numbers. They are there doing what is required. They are tasked with protecting all federal assets where ever those assets might be. And it really doesn't make a shit if they are moms or not. If they are trying to protect people that are breaking the law they need to be moved. The moms were not targeted. They were near the people that were targeted and felt the affects of the tear gas. |

rank | Wed Jul 22 00:49:18 2020 Customs & immigration has a facility in Portland. They regularly arrest and pepper spray people blockading their building (well, every summer during riot season). Theyre just stepping it up this year |

rank | Wed Jul 22 06:08:40 2020 there's video of them gathered around singing, i really doubt they were guarding a bunch of arsonists & looters there is clearly no training for the goon squads (as an internal memo even acknowledged) this administration is disgusting on so many levels, stirring up disorder for the headlines could well be the point (as others have theorized) given how many total garbage people are around Trump |

rank | Wed Jul 22 09:59:03 2020 i've heard more than one account from MomBloc & whatever the Dad group will be called saying the goons give no warning just start spraying & firing bean bags & pepper balls & flashbangs, etc |

rank | Thu Jul 23 00:05:54 2020 "there's video of them gathered around singing, i really doubt they were guarding a bunch of arsonists & looters" The common tactic of rioters is to get behind a group of protesters then attack the police with projectiles so the peaceful protesters are caught in the middle. The entire point is to make it so the police can't interact with the rioters without collateral interaction with the protesters. Protesters need to start realizing this and when they see people with containers coming up behind them donning masks they need to get the fuck away because those people behind them are there to try and get the protesters hurt. |

rank | Thu Jul 23 06:00:52 2020 and it's entirely possible the goon squads are attacking people who aren't doing shit (as in the video proof of Capt Portland (Chris David)) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cC7MHsNzobw & same as the people flushed out of the park to make way for Trump's church photo op |

rank | Thu Jul 23 16:27:53 2020 All military and ex-military are outstanding citizens and all cops are criminals. Go figure... I have no sympathy for someone who is most likely drawing a full military disability pension not following Federal directives on federal property. Obviously he must of thought he was special and privileged. Guess he thought incorrectly. |

rank | Thu Jul 23 19:20:38 2020 yes, how dare a citizen stand -outside- a barrier in front of a federal building... he deserves beaten & sprayed |
TJ
rank | Thu Jul 23 19:46:42 2020 I didn't say anything about deserving anything. His privilege of being white sucked doughnut holes for sure. |

rank | Thu Jul 23 19:59:21 2020 you having no sympathy suggests you believe he deserved it or you are saying the world is shit & he should just give up & accept it even if it gets worse & worse |

rank | Thu Jul 23 20:12:23 2020 "not following Federal directives on federal property." You have no ground to stand on as he was not on federal property. |
TJ
rank | Thu Jul 23 20:15:09 2020 Where were all the other good protesters wile he was supposedly defending his freedom? Me having no sympathy means I have no sympathy for people who believe they are privileged and above the law. I think he should have just been peacefully arrested and federally charged. |
TJ
rank | Thu Jul 23 20:19:13 2020 Hood: You are probably correct. I wouldn't even begin to say how it all will be rectified. Sometimes, right doesn't always turn out right. :) |

rank | Thu Jul 23 20:21:44 2020 What do you mean probably? There's video evidence. He never even makes it to the sidewalk; he's in the street the entire time. So you think he should be peacefully arrested and federally charged for... being in the street? For being in the general vicinity of federal property? That's absolute madness. |
TJ
rank | Thu Jul 23 20:37:49 2020 What I mean is that I'm not certain what their authority boundaries actually are or were at the time. I'm sure we will find out sooner or later. It defiantly doesn't look good for federal officers. The guy and protesters will make the best out of the ugly video. He still doesn't get any sympathy from me. |

rank | Thu Jul 23 20:41:42 2020 A city street is not going to be federal property. |
TJ
rank | Thu Jul 23 20:56:54 2020 I've already said I don't know the extent of their boundaries while protecting a federal building. A whole lot of ugly things happening that threaten freedoms. The laundry is going to come out dirty. |
