Seb Member	Sat Feb 15 15:13:01 China weighing in that Europe should be involved in the talks is a big play. China had influence on Russia. This is China's opportunity to pull a Nixon on the US. China has a lot to offer Ukraine and a lot to gain, and setting itself up as the guarantor of the Eastern Flank of Europe is basically game set and match. They divide the US and Europe, and the EU (through dependency). China then has controling influence of what geopolitical strategists called "the world island": Eurasia and Africa. The other thing - and this needs a big think in the EU - is warbonds to finance massive EU military expansion - combined with a push to make the Euro a real competitor the dollar. For that you need deep, liquid markets and it's the lack of Euro denominated debt that prevents this (Germans don't like the idea of ECB issuing collective debt). The impact of that though would be pretty bad, but the EU has quite a lot of excess capacity and an urgent need for war munitions. And if the US is about to whack on Tarrifs for steel etc. then there will be excess capacity on that. Honestly, given the bullshit the US is pulling right now; the ballsy move would be to offer direct support to Ukraine.
murder Member	Sat Feb 15 21:19:00 China is winning big. The US has already made clear that it will no longer guarantee security, so China has a green light to take Taiwan while Trump is in charge. Trump will probably try to trade Ukraine and Taiwan to Russia and China in exchange for their support for the US taking Greenland. The EU needs to cut the US out of negotiations over Ukraine. -
Habebe Member	Sat Feb 15 21:58:57 Murder, The difference being the Ukraine is nothing to the US. We ate not allies, we get nothing worthwhile from them. Taiwan, has 2 things n of importance. 1. Chips, this the primary thing, hence why we're trying to fix that issue. 2. Strategic naval position.
