Utopia Talk / Politics / Best supplements (OT)

In my opinion. Supplements in a broad sense of the word.

1. Water.
You are probably not drinking enough of it. Drink more.

2. Some sort of mold
Preferably not from licking Hobos. I suggest brewers yeast or similar. Contains the full B-complex, lots of fiber, lots of protein. One of the things we have been getting tons of since we were eating decomposing disosaur eggs. Today, not so much because of refrigeration and better housing.

3. K2
Another one of the things we got coincidentally since forever. A biproduct from bacteria. Famous in Natto (rotten soy beans). Probably extremely important for calcium regulation (calsium to bones, not to inside of ateries). A blood thickener, so if on thinners, confer with a doctor first.

4. Oatmeal (or most any whole grain)
cholesterol regulating if in sufficient volume. Starting the day with a bowl of oatmeal porridge might be the single best health investment you can make.

5. Vitamin D
Because deficiency is likely to cause covid to be worse than otherwise. Probably regulates ADHD/ADD.

6. Omega 3
Balances off good-bad cholesterol.

7. Magnesium
Regulates 100ds of hormon and other body reactions. Commonplace in food, but you are fucking up stuff if you don't have enough of it.

8. Gelatin
Breaks down to nice building blocks your body uses for stuff you want.

9. Vitamin C
That one is obvious.

10. Microdoses of amphetamin/Ritalin
Most of your fuckers probably need it. Besides, I want nimi to approve of this thread :).

With one correction, I have only spoken about micro doses of psychedelics like LSD and mushrooms, not amphetamines. They are very different in their effect and side effects and lack of side effects.

I approve of this message :)

"1. Water."

Got that one covered in spades, at least in the Irish sense.

I would probably add Iron, this is probably more important for women.

Yeah, Im generally the pro Amphetamine guy on these boards

Mushrooms too though. Never did acid, seemed to intense.

Would gut bacteria be included in your " some sort of mold" ?

"1. Water"
And carrots. How could you forget that?

"Oatmeal (or most any whole grain) "
Whole grain a lot! No problem to get whole grain bread here in Germany.

"Vitamin D"
No additional need during summer. Though you may have less sun in Norway?

"Omega 3"
Taking it for years.

"Microdoses of amphetamin/Ritalin"
My last order got lost, can anybody help me out?

As for K2 and more you must simply eat this one superior food:

I dropped iron because this thread would have degraded into what degree of ultra-rare Trumpist prefer their steaks.

Daemon
Beta-glucan is what you are looking for.

For vitamin D
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4499202/

Its a bit sneaky.

Sauerkraut has very little k2. I quite like German style Sauerkraut (our version is different and is called surkål).

Habebe
Yah, the research on d-deficiency and worsened add/adhd is pretty suggestive. Clinical studies are ongoing.

Kefir is common here. I drink it all the time, just because I like it.

Pillz
Its just me doing the normal white liberal cheating thing and aiming for a decade or two more of healthy life than a white trumptard can reasonably expect.

"Has anyone tried Kefir?"

Yes, it's good, though the taste varies wildly depending on the brand. Don't get the flavored shit, though, because it usually contains a shitload of sugar as part of the flavoring.

How hard is it to get enough Vitamin D? Youd have to be living in some Arctic shithole to not get enough sunlight per...oh.

Also Dukhat is a cuck. Lol

Trumptards can live a long time. Hot Rod hit 80 and he was basically an immobile pack rat for the last 30 years of his life. My mom is a pharmacist and their fat asses take a shit ton of medication to compensate for their massive obesity. Supplements are great and all but death comes from us all and has a huge random element.

That being said, I only take a multivitamin, magnesium, calcium, collagen, and fish oils. I can get them naturally from food but Its difficult especially at sea. Its especially important to get your nutrition in order if you weight lift in order to maximize gains and cuts. Fuck all that other shit. Just do cardio and you can get a runner’s high instead.

supplements is money rip business.

u do not need supplements, ur daily food contains all and everything u mentioned in this thread.

unless u eat fabricated artifical crapfoodz from supermarkets...

WoO is correct about avoiding the sugary kefir. Lifeway is also a good brand.

jergul's list is pretty good. For magnesium, I'll add that you can't rely on food labels. Shitty farming practices have led to soil and thus food containing less of some minerals including magnesium.

Selenium is also pretty important. In addition to omega 3 and some vitamin D, fatty fish also contain a fair amount of selenium.

Oatmeal isn't bad but I wouldn't say eating it is the best health investment you can make.

Since food like oatmeal is included in the list, I'll add on broccoli sprouts, garlic, ginger, and turmeric. If you have access to barberries, those are also good. A Brazil nut or two a day won't hurt either though (as noted above with magnesium) the selenium content varies a ton depending on where they are grown.

zinc already in meat. so if u eatin chicken or whatever, u already gettin zinc. it also in beans if i not mistaken, so a beaner like u isnt gettin less zinc. ur gettin 2 much zinc if u also add zinc supplement and that bad coz u wuld be gettin cancer from zinc.

beano logic = rekted.

this is why i say u dunt need any supplements. coz all them vitamins u already gettin from proper meals.

and gettin 2 much of them doesnt benefit u, it hurts u.

The best thing is to eat a varied diet. Then you should be getting all the minerals and vitamins that u need.

Yes, but I think a quality multivitamin is a good thing.

I have a small garden and some fruit trees. I rigged it that my AC waters my garden with a garden hose and small pump.

I had to pick the pears the other day, damn squirrels ate like half of them already.

The problem with a varied diet is the agricultural revolution some 350 generations ago. Evolution is measured in the 10s of thousands generations.

Varied things that too easily transform to sugar give too much energy density to nutrition.

Jergul, Back to gelatin, what soet of gelatin do you mean?

I frankly don't think it matters as the body will break down food grade or hydrolised gelatin to small amino acid building blocks anyway.

Oh praise the virtues of hamburger. That contains 7-10% gristle typically. But I was thinking powdered pigskin or whatever.

I tend to view it in an evolutionary sense. We are not gnawing on bones as much as before because processed starches, sugars and fats have displaced all kinds of various building blocks (nutrients) we need to thrive. So there are lots of stuff we are not getting enough of.

You could make your own!

Get some gelatine. Any store has it. Boil a little bit of water. Add gelatine. Stir, then cool to body temperature. Add a bottle of vodka. Freeze in those icecube bags. Enjoy this healthy treat on hot and humid sunny days :D.

Jergul, I make alot of bone broth for soups. But thanks to you im probably gonna add jello to my diet.

Anyway, Im starting my dad on a low carb diet, I've done them a handful of times before, but for him he wants to lose weight and keep his diabetes in check, plus exercise is limited because he only has one leg.

So I've already gone over the basics with him.

Omega 3 supplement, ive been using mega red myself, might switch back to GNC.

1 multivitamin daily

Fiber supplements

I was thinking of green tea extract drinks or they have those big green or fruit extract powder drinks that arent packed with carbs and sugar... What are ypur thoughts

I would just drink green tea. If you want to be fancy, then make your own kombucha? Its a relatively simple process. Sugar, tea, water, scobie. Ferment until sugar is gone. Then do a second fermentation with the flavour of your choice (my fav is redpepper and ginger). This one you do with a seal to carbonate. Pro-tip. Use a carbonating machine (that Israeli brand is fine) carefully to top off bubbles before consuming if natural carbonizing did not go too good.

I would be very careful with dieting your dad for weight loss. I would go for stabilizing his diet and let the weightloss come coincidentally from that. A rowing machine is a great way to stabilize muscles around the prostetic so he can improve his functional mobility, but check that out with his physiotherapist.

Diet with lots of fiber and as high a GI index average as he will accept. Soups are great. If you can get him to eat fermented stuff, then wonderful (I assume he has been on antibiotics relatively recently, so probably has a completely fucked up intestinal flora). Porridge to start the day. Fancy porridge. Oatmeal, 5 or 8 seed mix, almond or walnuts, Flax seed whole (not digestible. That is not their purpose), chopped up prunes. Serve with vit-d enriched low fat milk, cinnamon (ceylon. any other kind is literally poison) and brewers yeast.

The fermented stuff is to culture good bacteria colonies he already has. What you feed thrives, What you dont feed does not (one of the reasons for having a low meat diet is to limit the number of meat eating bacteria in the intestines. Because, you know, we are made out of meat. Those kinds of bacteria are bad if they start wandering passed the intestinal wall).

Nice with the soupmaking from scratch. Careful with the jello. Its half sugar :).

Whole barley and steel-cut oats are great soup thickeners btw. Both have high levels of betaglutan (the thing you want to regulate cholesterol) and adding to soups, stews (not tomatobased sauces as it is just yucky in that) to help lift beta-g above threshold values.

Well he has his heart set in trying low carb, especially with the diabetes, as for me meh, I could stand to lose a few but kinda supportive kinda lazy on my part to not prep two meals.

His gut flora is probably shot. He hasnt been on any antibiotics for a few months at least. But Nsaids do a number on them as well and he takes 3 Vicodin 10/325 a day... Idk all the meds he is on, probably like 30 a day, its a lot.

As for excersize, he is stubborn amd doesnt like his " boat anchor" prosthetic, but some of that might be that he has gained like 40 lbs in the last few years since he lost his leg.

Yah, I get that. A rowing machine can quickly become an expensive clothing rack. But it probably is the best way to build up muscle strength given his condition. He does not walk on anchor, but builds up strength to actually do so. But the best thing that won't work is still something that won't work.

High GI is by definition low carb, but has a different emphasis, so helps keep a focus on fibre and stuff.
