All I’m feeling right now is the fucking exhaustion from organizing against Kavanaugh for months. We didn’t sleep, we threw our trauma out to the world, and got nothing. Please no.

What's more pathetic laughing at people mourning the loss of an American legend or this guy?

We’re shutting this country down if Trump and McConnell try to ram through an appointment before the election.

They are already threatening to pack the SC.

aye, and yet they seem more upset about Trump getting a third SC justice in then in mourning her.

She has even said in her words that a potus should be allowed to nominate a justice to the end of there term. Wouldnt it honor her to do so.

Democratic Senators habe already said they will attempt to packnthe Senate in ordsr to obtain a majority again after the election.

Honestly if that happens Jergul may have been right as that would lead to secession of the union by many states.

A few (not prominent) Democrats have said even if President Trump does appoint a conservative after Biden becomes president they will just increase the number of justices and appoint enough liberals to control the court.

Rubio may gain support for his amendment to limit packing the court.

Congress will be tougher than the state's Id think.

RBG was a freakin hero.

----

What is this nonsense. What did Ginsburg ever do to make herself a "hero?" She was a Supreme Court judge, not Superwoman.

Cool it with the false worship already. You just think you love her because you've been trained to do so for the past four years straight by the likes of SNL and Colbert. In reality she is no more a "hero" than Scalia or Rehnquist or Thomas or Kavanaugh.

Jacob Wohl is a piece of shit. He's also braver than the troops.

But like, Felicity Jones played her in that "On the Basis of Sex" movie, which made RBG look like a rock star, so, like, Hollywood has already said that we have to love her!

Absolute yikes... Getting some real Matthew McGorry vibes from this one. So desperate to be an accepted puppet.

You guys like Sweden are fucked in that we have politicized some critical portion of the judiciary. You have this retarded system where a president appoints the SCJ and in Sweden, instead of a jury we have "nämndeman" (lay judge) that are members of the city/municipal council and thus almost always directly affiliated i.e members of a political party.

Now, one can always argue that people have political affinity whether we speak about it or not. However the fact that it is openly and widely accepted and expected to be a political appointement certainly does nothing but to exacerbate the problem, polarize and rattle the constituency into a battle for the judicial soul of the country.

These systems and the documents and praxis they are founded on are from an analogy era, this is the legacy of an analog society and the wires are coming loose.

It is like the military commanders of WW1 who went to war with 20th century weapons using 19th century tactics. Fucking carnage.

The carnage was worse when they went to war with 20th century weapons using 20th century tactics.

Way worse.

Yes, in absolut terms, but WW1 was considerably smaller in scope, WW2 was total war in Europe and Asia.

Even though this isn't a point I am making, it is worth making: everything the future has to offer isn't better by nature of it being new, it can also be much worse. I have said it myself, most new ideas are actually quite had.

Even in relative terms.

"British soldiers, he says, actually had a 90 percent survival rate, far higher than in Britain’s previous continental engagement, the Crimean War.

Furthermore, because of a complex system of unit rotations, each soldier spent an average of only 15 percent of his time in the firing line, 10 percent in support trenches, a further 30 percent in reserve trenches further back and almost half his time, 45 percent, out of the trenches entirely."

It isn't relevant for my graphic illustration of the carnage born from having tools that exceed your ability to use them properly. I also conceded the phenomena of WW2, i.e you can do even worse things using the tools "properly".

Yah, sorry. It is just a pet peeve of mine that people think world war one was particularly horrid as those things go.

Well, it was, I would still argue that it was worse for the soldiers. Most of the added casualties from WW2 are civilians. The casualty count of WW2 goes from 1937 (Japanese campaigns in China) to 1945, and WW1 goes from 1914 to 1918. Half the time and like I said, WW1 was limited to Europe. Yet WW1 involved large scale use of WMDs. So, in relative terms I would still consider WW1 as worse, especially considering that WW1 lacked the ideological evil of nazis, fascist and Communists, it was just an "ordinary" war.

But, it isn't relevant for the point I was making :)

I feel lole WW1 was generally worse conditions for those involved. On par with Vietnam or the US civil war.

Just my opinion on I feel likenthe were dirtier more humid and disease ridden wars... I could be wrong though.

Things really only get bad for frontline troops when rear echelon logistics implodes. That did not happen often on the western front.

But we digress :D

It depends on which side you fought for. You really didnt want to fight for the US south in the civil war(no medicine, no reserves) or for north vietnam (badly outmatched)... with death rates of some 30% (nva army size is hard to figure but probably in this ballpark.)

On the flip side, fighting for the US in vietnam... against an inferior opponent... would have been much easier... some 2% died.

World war 1s evenly matched armies and the US north would have been in the 10-15% range.

"Disrespectful, disgusting, vile, motherfuckers. Stop spitting in the face of strong women!"

lol
The phrasing of that reminds me of that Chapelle sketch:
"You raw, darkness, you, fucking, delirious, mothafuckas! You are cold as ice!"
http://www...-rick-james-pt--1---uncensored

Those comments too. Wow. Some "appropriation" logic. I guess no one can appropriate the weird terms of their opponents. So, then, stop calling GOP voters snowflakes?
(Incidentally, urban dictionary's tracking of the term "snowflake" shows another attempt to re-write the term post-Trump. This is similar to re-writes of "fascism" on Wiki post-2016 and re-writes of racism and sexism. It's become a strategy: change the definitions to avoid facing a double standard).
