Doesn't he plan to raise taxes immediately?

He calls it repealong the Trump tax cuts, but lets be honest, that is a tax increase.

Forget taxes. Energy and regulatory costs are going to soar under Biden. And guess what, landlords are going to pass those costs off to their tenants.

The OP said as much, and hes entirely correct.

Wow, are you someone who earns $400 k plus? The best year I ever had I made 48K.

How should I address you if you are in that tax bracket? Your lordship or something like that?

Tom, That's BS and you know it.

Fact: Trumps tax cuts effected.low and middle.income earners as well.

So logic goes to saynif you repeal that tax cut your raising taxes on those people as well.

Aside.from the 12.6% tax increase on 400k+.

Americans paid almost $64 billion less in federal income taxes during the first year under the Republican tax overhaul signed into law in late 2017 by President Donald Trump, with some of the sharpest drops clustered among taxpayers earning between $25,000 and $100,000 a year, even as the overall number of refunds dropped during a turbulent tax season.

That’s according to Internal Revenue Service data released this week, giving the most up-to-date look yet at how people fared at tax time in the first year of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Trump tax cuts didn't effect me at all. Anyone on a fixed income like SS and a small pension didn't get anything.

Biden has repeatedly stated that he will raise taxes only on those earning $400K or more. Less than 1% of the population earn that kind of money.

Here in Maine, former Gov. Paul LePage put through a $400 million tax cut. Of course he paid for it by eliminating revenue sharing with towns and municipalities. My property taxes went up $800 a year in 2 years. I got no tax break.

Looking back to Bush 41, he put through a tax cut then we went to war in Kuwait.

Bush 43 put through a tax cut then we went backto war in the middle east. Spending money hand over fist to fund wars with less income. Might of had something to do with the big recession.

Trump comes in and pushes through another tax cut, promptly starts pissing money away on a useless wall that he promissed Mexico would pay for.

Are we winning yet? Our infrastructure is still crumbling. are we winning yet? Our health care and prescription drugs are still going up. Are we winning yet?

Tom, "
Biden has repeatedly stated that he will raise taxes only on those earning $400K or more. Less than 1% of the population earn that kind of money.
"

But the thing about that is its a lie. The act of repealing a tax cut is in fact raising taxes.

Now if he said that he would keep intact the lower bracket cuts, that would be different. He has not said that.

Separately he has called for a 12.6% increase on people making 400k+.

Now you can make the case that we shouls raise taxes, that's fine. In general I actually agree that we should increase tax revenues.

*But to say Biden will not raise taxes on people making less than 400k os a lie.*

And that's just income taxes, not carbon /fuel taxes which will likely impact loawr income people as well.

"affect/effect

Choosing between affect and effect can be scary. Think of Edgar Allan Poe and his RAVEN: Remember Affect Verb Effect Noun. You can't affect the creepy poem by reading it, but you can enjoy the effect of a talking bird.

In everyday speech, affect is a verb. It means to influence something, such as in the headline from the Albuquerque News,

Downed Power Line Affects PNM Customers

The downed power line had an impact on some power customers: they were without electricity overnight.

Effect is most commonly used as a noun meaning the result or impact of something, an outcome. If there's "a/an/the" in front of it, it's an effect. The second sentence is from a story about the outcome of long-term sleeping trouble,

The Effect of Persistent Sleepiness

Adding to the confusion, effect can also be used as a verb to mean to produce or to cause to come into being. Here's an example that uses it correctly,

A government unable to effect any change is a government that will produce no surprises.

Put another way, a government that can't produce change won't be able to produce surprises; it will be predictable.

Most of the time, you'll want affect as a verb meaning to influence something and effect for the something that was influenced. The difference between affect and effect is so slippery that people have started using "impact" as a verb instead. Don't be one of them! Another trick is to remember that affect comes first alphabetically, and an action (to affect) has to occur before you can have a result (an effect)."

Rugian- zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

This is what happened when LePage pushed through his tax cut.
http://fre...s-Towns-and-Cities/52/78/24003

Some towns were hit harder than others. LePage told everyone to just tighten their belts and cut back on services. But some towns like the one I lived in were bare bones to begin with. Their only practical response was to raise property taxes. On many of us that lived there it was a net tax increase. On me it was $500 one year and the next was another $300.

Now to some of you who are making good money $800 doesn't sound like much. But if you are living on less than $30K a year, that is a big bite.

One of the better parts of the Trump tax plan was it capped deducting local taxes at 10k.

Hard to cut something you were not paying in the first place.

Dakyron, should I be apologizing for living this long? Never did think I would live this long but here I am. My body is wearing out, left knee ain't worth a shit and have aches that I never imagined. I did however pay income taxes for over 50 years and still pay property taxes, sales taxes, etc. If my wife would let me I'd be driving a dump truck all summer long.

I dont think anyome is mad at you for.abiding by the contract that you were given.

But you also cant really complain that a tax cut doesn't increase your income. Thats not how it works.Thats a coat of living increase.

"Biden has repeatedly stated that he will raise taxes only on those earning $400K or more. Less than 1% of the population earn that kind of money."

Sure he says that and he does want to put a new tax in place that will increase taxes for those who make more than $400K and that increase is what he talks about. What he doesn't talk about is the other plans he has for our taxes that will increase the payments for just about everybody.

Also goes far beyond just taxes. Biden plans for new restrictions and regulations that will cost everybody more of their money.
