Crackdowns on religious assemblies have been made, arrests have been carried out, protests and street violence have broken out, lawsuits have been filed. The Jews have decided to take up resistance and have accused the state of using them as scapegoats for the city's recent rise in Covid cases. Kornbluh also claims he was kicked by the crowd. On Twitter, Kornbluh wrote that Tischler "recognized me and ordered the crowd to chase me down the street."
