started watching The Sinner on netflix, pretty good detective show. id say on par with ozarks as far as quality. i have no idea how i missed this show when it came out. they have 3 seasons under their belt with the 4th on the way. each season is about a different murder so it is an anthology.

oh also Your Honor on showtime was a good mini series. it stars bryan cranston as a judge in new orleans whose son unintentionally kills a mob bosses son and focuses on how cranston attempts to protect his son by pretty much sacrificing everything he stands for.

Has anyone else here watched "Black Jesus"? that show was hilarious.

It had The late Charlie Murphy and Jon Witherspoon. Both comedy legends.

How to make good shows? simple, make sure you promote cripples and coloreds over talent. ..

Because of course Hollywood doesn't represent enough black people.

Resident Alien on SyFy. Fantastic.

That was why Band of Brothers was so great. It not only promoted cripples, it literally made them.

Watched season 1 of "The Handmaids Tale" in the last few days. I think season 4 is already out or in the making but I'm slow...

Started to watch "Away" (mission to Mars series) with Hilary Swank on netflix. Pretty good 2 episodes in. It seems like what Star Trek would be, if Star Trek was set in a real universe that obeys the laws of physics and no magical technology. They are going where no human has gone before and they have interpersonal drama and engineering problems to solve. I like it so far.

I'm not sure if I've recommended this before, but watch a film called The Head Hunter if you can. I don't know if it streams anywhere, but Amazon has it digitally for $6. Amazing movie - even more when you consider the budget was about $30k.

There is no way the budget was 30k. That is like the start of a day if they follow union regs.

On a semi related topic, does anyone recommend a good mirror app to cast my phone screen to the tv?

Android tv, android phone.

Not to cast pics or video, I really want my entire screen.

Not sure if you guys have already brought it up, but "The last Kingdom" on Netflix is pretty good. 800 AD Saxons vs the invading Danes.

First season of gotham is very hit or miss. Last season is pretty awesome for a basic cable show.

Extraction, movie with thor, just watched after putting it off for a while and boy is it pretty cool. Lots of action and really good cinematography.

I just want to warn everyone, ”Away” is terrible, it has nothing to do with space, now the title makes sense ”Away”, as in ”the crew”, not you the audience. Because you are going to spend half of the show to follow the trials and tribulations of a teenage girl in high school on earth, meanwhile the social dynamic on board the ship, isn’t that much better than what you expect in high school.

Terrible.

My only complaint is atkeast so far, they seem to leave a lot of unfinished story and they just jump to the next story ( Gotham)

Castlevania was ok.Not amazing, but ok.

That new Tom Hank's movie "news of the World" was good, I mean it's an exoected Tom hanks film.

Good, I mean its still a great show, better than I thought it would have been. They left a lot open that they could go back too, like the toy maker stealing kids.

But I havnt seen it yet, I hear only good things though.

Although it's mostly OT for this thread, Valheim is an amazing viking/norse mythology survival game. It's early access, but it is in amazing shape already. It's co-op survival on small dedicated servers of up to 10 people, not pvp survival). It has sold something like 5 million copies in about a month, and deservedly so.

Easily the best $20 I've spent in gaming in a long time. Check it out if you're at all interested in that type of game.

HBO is making a Gotham City police show. Hopefully it will be like if HBO made Gotham, which Ive been binging for a week now.

HBO is also making the GoTs prequel, but there have been rumours that there is no gratuitous violence and or violence against women....which means the SJWs may have got to them.

Gotham is still pretty great.

As expected, physics and biology play by different rule.

1. The slightest punch or hit on the head knocks one unconscious.

2. As easy as itnis to knock someone out, its insanely difficult to kill them, being shot and drowned for example doesn't kill people.

3. Gas whether poison or knockout etc. doesn't dilute in air at a normal rate and even in the open air a small cannister of gas is extremely potent.

I watched the new unsolved mysteries, episode 1. It was ok but no different really from any other show on crime tv channels.

Ive since found youtube offers full episodes of the old school Unsolved mysteries WAY better.

They rarely use the creepy music. They have no narrarator.Theu kist dont set the tone like thenold show did that creeped me out as a kid.

I remember 2 in particular that stuck out, and creeped me and my cousin and I.

One was a guy who went to a corner store and was robbed on the way home, they found him in the woods in his underwear.

The other more vivid one was a guy pulled up to a house flashed his headlights in and then off, never to be seen again *cue the creepy music*

Watched "Don't fuck with cats", it's pretty good as far as true crime shows go.I did fall asleep halfway through episode 2.

The computer nerd analysis seemed rather primitive really, but then I seen it was 2010-2012, so it was probably pretty good for the people researching it.

I dont know why In love true crime shows. I wonder if Thats more of an American phenomenon.

move recommendation this time, King Kong, 2005, holds up. slow start but it is a really good movie that shouldve won best picture. so much more craft, thought and skill was put into this film than was million dollar baby, finding neverland, sideways, aviator. jackson got screwed with LOTR. he should have won in 2001 and 2003 (which he won) but they didnt want to reward him until the end of the trilogy and then pretty much ignored him after.

I only saw a few episodes but i did like resident alien. I cant remember his name but that lead actor is horribly underrated. He has been in so much, never leading but always some charm. Reminds me of ben foster. Capable of humor and seriousness.

Doesn't get much better than the Primitive Technology channel on youtube. Dude just running around barefoot in Australia, slowly climbing the tech tree from scratch. Firing clay pots, drying mud bricks for simple structures, growing yams. Last I checked, he was right on the cusp of smelting iron.

So Ive seen the first 2 seasons, it is a little confusing, but I think that's because the only I know about Marvel is the old X men movies and the 2nd Iron man....

Also, Disney plus has shirty functionality compared to Netflix.

Norweigan doesn't make me.feel sophisticated though. Jergul may have ryuned it for me.

I gave up on Wanda vision by episode 4 it was clear I should find how who they are....

Btw, they have Dinosaurs (Not the mama)
