Can we not just require that police get less than lethal weapons to handle these situations?

Perhaps retards should stop committing fucktons of crime. It is ok for police to shoot criminals, especially since modern courts usually do not provide sufficiently long sentences to protect public safety.

Police shoot dead about 3 criminals per day on average. Since courts are becoming more lenient, police will havevto become less lenient, and this number should rise.

Clean shoot

Maybe her aunt her ran to the media should have kept her out of fucking foster homes, she didn't even keep up with her birthday enough to know she had turned 16

i doubt the cop will have any troubles, but probably another case where inviting the cop lead to more death

i seriously doubt the girl was going to stab anyone to death, she might not even have stabbed at all... it was a 12 min response from 911 to cop arriving & don't think she had even cut anyone

however, note i'm still saying cop will be fine :p

I agree, I don't see anything coming out of this because of the knife.

Patom is dead on. I gave my break down of it earlier in the chain in thread.

she was literally in mid stab when the coo shot her.

tumbleweed, when the cop showed up. How else was he supposed to assess the situation? None of the other spectators were carrying a weapon. She was the only one wielding a knife. She was the one that was aggressive with the knife. In the short time he had she went after two females. It only takes a quick slash to cut a throat.

"i doubt the cop will have any troubles"

Not from the law, but a thoughtless left-wing mob, frenzied by the normal retards like lebron james, may give hime trouble.

@patom, i said the cop's actions will be determined as justified

but i also doubt murder would have occurred*... the cop just happened to arrive at the exact minute she was going to commit her first (known) murder?

also it looked like a steak knife, wouldn't be easy to slash a throat especially w/ the target resisting... -if- she even went for the stab, i would guess most likely would have been a defensive hand wound & then girl slipping away or assisted by some friend... being very angry at someone & being willing to kill them is a pretty big chasm (although it's smaller in a certain segment of people...)

*but murder doesn't have to be about to occur for the cop to legally shoot them, i'm just saying the cop likely increased the death toll from 0 to 1 that day

which is a problem w/ cop reactions in general, not that relevant here, but they are quick to assume people are planning to kill them & kill in unnecessary self-defense

tumbleweed, how may seconds did you have to determine what kind of knife that was. Did you have the privilege of re watching the video at your convenience while sitting in front of your computer with no responsibility to respond to the 911 call? Or were you on site with less than 5 seconds to assess the situation?

i've said the cop will be justified, & yes i'm using monday-morning QBing

my only observation is the cop likely the only reason a death

he had only seconds, he saw the knife, the aggressive wielder, & did what he was legally allowed to do

however, imagine it was a british cop... no gun... just his big bobby hat & billy club, having to bound over comically then tackle or otherwise subdue the girl... doubtful any death would have occurred

-maybe- pink girl cut/stabbed in some fashion, -maybe- cop cut/stabbed in some fashion, -maybe- stabby sue cut/stabbed in some fashion... but maybe not any of that

& if no cop at all, no reason to presume a death would occur... she was there for over 12 mins threatening w/ knife w/o any actual harm... and everyone was outside, they could just leave... (i don't know who's yard it was or who called 911 or what the fight about)

so again, 'my only observation is the cop likely the only reason a death'

Senior advisor to Barack Obama weighing in here:

A Black teenage girl named Ma’Khia Bryant was killed because a police officer immediately decided to shoot her multiple times in order to break up a knife fight. Demand accountability. Fight for justice. #BlackLivesMatter

great Fox article

"OJ Simpson hits LeBron James for Ohio cop tweet, slams media for portraying 'edited versions' of story"

http://www...on-lebron-james-ohio-cop-tweet

"i know how dangerous stabbing can be" ...is not in the article

"I’m a little upset with most of the media because they showed us edited versions of what took place with the girl with the knife" claimed OJ

i know of no examples, Fox cites no examples, but i'm sure that's the quote that made them make an article out of it (especially given it's in the headline)

For the record I got that from Greenwald, who's hardly a member of the "right." He was forwarding a comment from someone else about how it's hypocritical for Valerie to be making that statement when she was a member of an administration that used to drone strike villages in order to take out suspected terrorists.

Now if I had wanted to go full r/The_Donald mode, I would have posted this one from Bree Newsome instead:

@"BreeNewsome
Teenagers have been having fights including fights involving knives for eons. We do not need police to address these situations by showing up to the scene & using a weapon against one of the teenagers. Y’all need help. I mean that sincerely."

i wasn't accusing you of anything

do you not believe the 'right' is happily mocking her comment? Twitter is all about 'right' vs 'left' combat

the possible cause of the fight (although it's coming from the living side of the argument, so could be lies):

----

Ma'Khia Bryant and two other young women argued over a messy house and unmade bed before a fight that ended with the fatal police shooting shooting of the Black teenager, the woman who cared for Ma'Khia in foster care said Thursday.

Angela Moore said two of her former foster children had come to her Columbus, Ohio, home Tuesday to celebrate her birthday when the young women and Ma'Khia bickered over housekeeping.

"It was over keeping the house clean," Moore said. "The older one told them to clean up the house because 'Mom doesn't like the house dirty,'" Moore recalled being told after she arrived home from work. "So that's how it all started."

Moore relayed for CNN the story she said she was told by one of the girls in the house at the time.

"You're not the guardian of me," Bryant replied, according to the story Moore said she was told.

"They argue all the time," Moore recalled, "but I never thought it would escalate like that."

Moore said she received a frantic call from one of the former foster children, who is seen in police body camera footage wearing pink and recoiling as Ma'Khia lunges at her with a shimmering knife.

"Mom, get home. Where are you? They're going crazy," Moore said the young woman told her. "She said they shot Ma'Kiah and I said, 'Huh?' It was just crazy."
