I've seen a lot of news stories that don't get posted here. Many IMO are not really thread worthy as they wont have legs.

But even if not thread worthy they could be worthy of several posts or single posts at least.Ill start.

Hopefully they fimd this missing Indonesian sub as several major navies are searching for in a race against time.

The fact that there was a floating mass of oil in the area doesnt seem good though. Possibly one of the scariest ways to die.

More product groups seeing sharp rise in prices. Possible signs of general inflation or specific supply chain disruptions could be to blame, likely a combination.

I'm not exactly sure why but I can attest that lumber/wood products have jumped alot, even where I live "Americas wood basket" Ive seen lumber jump in cost.

Ive heard several theories, I don't think this particular cost jump is merely monetary inflation since it has been going on earlier than other cost hikes.

It's supply-chain interruptions. Climate-change and just-in-time supply chains that depend on predictability (companies mispredicted demand due to covid) have all contributed.

Climate change is wrecking havoc on chips right now with Taiwan in desperate need of water.

PORT DICKSON, April 21 — The word “Allah” is sacred and specifically for Islam and Muslims, and cannot be used by or equated with other religions, said Negri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council (MAINS) chairman Datuk Dr Abdul Aziz Sheikh Ab Kadir.

In maintaining harmony and unity of the people in the state, as well as the sensitivity of every citizen and religion, he said the non-Muslims are advised to abide by existing laws, and for the Muslims, to adhere to the gazetted fatwa (edict) on the use of the word.

He referred to the fatwa in Negeri Sembilan, which was gazetted on Sept 14, 2016, requiring Muslims to use the word “Allah” carefully.

“If there are elements of insult or abuse of the word, then action must be taken in accordance with the law as enshrined in the Federal Constitution,” he told reporters here.

He said there is a law in Negeri Sembilan that was formulated based on Article 11(4) of the Federal Constitution to deal with the issue and cited the state enactment on the control and restriction on the propagation of other religions among Muslims (Enactment No.9/1991).

The enactment listed a total of 36 words, including “Allah”, that were prohibited and could not be associated with religions other than Islam. — Bernama

N'DJAMENA, Chad (AP) — Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno, who ruled the central African nation for more than three decades, was killed Tuesday on the battlefield in a fight against rebels, the military announced on national television and radio.

The stunning announcement came just hours after electoral officials had declared Deby, 68, the winner of the April 11 presidential election, paving the way for him to stay in power for six more years.

An 18-month transitional council will be led by Deby’s 37-year-old son, Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, the military said, also imposing a nightly curfew of 6 p.m.

The circumstances of Deby’s death could not immediately be independently confirmed due to the remote location of the fighting.

The military said Deby had taken "the heroic lead in combat operations against terrorists who had come from Libya.” After being wounded in battle, he then was taken to the capital, the general announced.

However, some foreign observers questioned how a head of state could have been killed, saying it cast doubt on his protective guard. The Chadian military had only acknowledged five deaths in weekend fighting in which it said it had killed 300 rebels.

“We still don’t have the whole story,” Laith Alkhouri, a global intelligence adviser, told The Associated Press. “It raises concerns regarding the security forces’ assessment of the clashes and their intelligence regarding the severity of the situation.”

Other analysts pointed to Deby's long history of visiting the battlefield as a former army commander-in-chief himself.

The rebels are believed to have armed and trained in neighboring Libya before crossing into northern Chad on April 11. Their arrival came on the same day that Chad’s president sought a sixth term on election day, which several top opposition candidates boycotted.

Deby was a major French ally in the fight against Islamic extremism in Africa, hosting the base for the French military's Operation Barkhane and supplying critical troops to the peacekeeping effort in northern Mali.

“There’s no evidence to suggest this was a coup committed by his troops. Anyone who follows Deby knows he used to say 'to lead troops you have to smell the gunpowder,'” tweeted Cameron Hudson with the Atlantic Council’s Africa Center.

Deby first came to power in 1990 when his rebel forces overthrew then-President Hissene Habre, who was later convicted of human rights abuses at an international tribunal in Senegal.

Over the years Deby had survived numerous armed rebellions and managed to stay in power until this latest insurgency led by a group calling itself the Front for Change and Concord in Chad.

Deby's son, Mahamat, has served as a top commander for Chadian forces taking part in that effort.

The hunt for a missing KRI Nanggala 402 submarine with 53 crew turned into a salvage effort Sunday after recovered debris suggested it broke apart as it sank off the coast of Bali. Warships, planes and hundreds of military personnel had led a frantic search for the submarine since it disappeared this week during training exercises, hoping for a miracle rescue before its known oxygen reserves ran out. But the navy acknowledged Saturday that pieces of the submarine, including items from inside the vessel, had been retrieved. They declared that it had sunk, effectively ending any chance of finding survivors. Among the items recovered was a piece of the torpedo system and a bottle of grease used to lubricate periscopes.

They also found a prayer mat commonly used in the country.

"The navy stated that Nanggala may have experienced a power outage.[31] After the finding of debris from Nanggala, Yudo Margono stated that the submarine may have cracked instead of exploded, as an explosion would have been detected by sonar.[66] Indonesian People's Representative Council member Tubagus Hasanuddin alleged that the retrofit done by South Korea in 2012 may have failed and contributed to the incident. Hasanuddin also stated that during the incident, Nanggala was at overcapacity as the submarine was designed to have 38 crew members, as opposed to the 53 present during the incident. Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy Yudo Margono said the boat was combat ready, had received a letter of acceptance, and had a history of safe operations."

Current speculation on causes from the wiki. Interesting.

Submarine disasters are the stuff of nightmare fuel. The Kursk disaster happened when I was growing up and I remember finding it legitimately disturbing:

"The operation to recover the dead sailors of the Russian submarine Kursk has managed to bring four bodies to the surface and with them more information about how they spent their final hours.

A Russian navy spokesman said on Thursday that a note was found in the pocket of one of the bodies recovered Wednesday.

It indicates at least 23 people, who survived initial explosions that crippled the sub, waited for help that never came.

"All the crew from the sixth, seventh and eighth compartments went over to the ninth. There are 23 people here," read the letter found on a lieutenant.

"We made this decision as a result of the accident. None of us can get to the surface . . . I am writing blindly.""

77 inmates at Iowa prison are given up to six times the normal dose of Pfizer COVID vaccine.

Seventy-seven Iowa prison inmates were given overdoses of COVID-19 vaccine — thought to be up to six times the normal amount — but none became ill enough to need hospitalization, authorities said.

The incident happened Tuesday at the Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison, which is a maximum-security prison for men.

Incidents such as this could create additional hesitancy.

http://amp...ling-jewish-woman-avoids-trial

Thousands of protesters have rallied in Paris and across France after the killer of a Jewish woman was declared unfit to stand trial because he was judged to have suffered a psychotic episode caused by cannabis use.

Kobili Traoré is accused of beating 65-year-old Lucie Attal – better known as Sarah Halimi – and throwing her from the balcony her Paris apartment in 2017.

French courts have recognised the killing as an antisemitic crime but declared that 32-year-old Traoré, currently in a psychiatric hospital, could not be tried as he was in the grip of a drug-induced “delusional fit” and not in control of his actions.

A serial dater has been arrested in Japan after seeing 35 different people at the same time and receiving gifts and cards from all of them.

Takashi Miyagawa, a part-time worker of no fixed abode from the Japanese region of Kansai, had told each of the women he had been dating that his birthday was on a different date.

The 39-year-old was arrested for defrauding the 35 women after pretending to be serious about relationships with them.

In one case, the Miyagwa told a 47-year-old lover that his birthday was on February 22, while another victim, 40, said he told her it was in July. A third woman, who is 35, said she believed it was in April.

According to SoraNews24, the total number of victims stands at 35 with the possibility of more coming forwards.

In total, the women have accused Miyagawa of swindling them out of £665 worth of birthday presents, clothes, and cash.

Is it illegal to date several people at the same time? Illegal to receive presents and cash?

Isn’t that the point of dating (at least for some women) to receive presents?

Dutch politicians were tricked by a deepfake video chat

Netherlands politicians just got a first-hand lesson about the dangers of deepfake videos. According to NL Times and De Volkskrant, the Dutch parliament's foreign affairs committee was fooled into holding a video call with someone using deepfake tech to impersonate Leonid Volkov (above), Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny's chief of staff.

The perpetrator hasn't been named, but this wouldn't be the first incident. The same impostor had conversations with Latvian and Ukranian politicians, and approached political figures in Estonia, Lithuania and the UK.

The country's House of Representatives said in a statement that it was "indignant" about the deepfake chat and was looking into ways it could prevent such incidents going forward.

There doesn't appear to have been any lasting damage from the bogus video call. However, it does illustrate the potential damage from deepfake chats with politicians. A prankster could embarrass officials, while a state-backed actor could trick governments into making bad policy decisions and ostracizing their allies. Strict screening processes might

"random reentry is not an FAA-licensed activity"

http://www...e-northwests-skies-last-month/

[...]
The falling debris that lit up the Pacific Northwest skies was from a rocket SpaceX launched March 4 to lift a batch of 60 Starlink satellites into orbit.

Those satellites, designed and built by SpaceX in Redmond, are part of CEO Elon Musk’s plan to deploy a total of 12,000 satellites that will provide broadband Internet access worldwide. SpaceX currently has about 1,320 of the satellites in orbit, all launched on its Falcon 9 rockets.

Soon after the 45-foot-long, 3-ton upper stage of the rocket delivered the 60 satellites into orbit, SpaceX was supposed to steer it to a controlled descent into the ocean. But something went wrong and instead it slowly spiraled down from orbit over three weeks, finally breaking up and burning as it reentered the atmosphere.

As the debris traveled eastward over the state, eventually the fiery glow went out, ending what scientists who study meteors call the “luminous flight path” as remaining chunks traveled on in a “dark flight” phase.

Federal officials seem to have lost interest when it left orbit. An FAA spokesperson said the launch license it grants SpaceX ended when SpaceX lost control of the rocket.

“Its subsequent uncontrolled, random reentry is not an FAA-licensed activity,” the spokesperson said. “The agency is not investigating it.”

A NASA spokesperson said the federal space agency does not track debris from “non-NASA missions” and directed inquiries to the 18th Space Control Squadron of the U.S. Space Force.

But that unit tracks only objects in orbit, said Space Force spokesperson Meaghan Dorroh, and “if they fall to the ground … it’s no longer the responsibility of Space Control to track them.”

She said the Federal Emergency Management Agency would be responsible for the recovery of such objects.

But at FEMA, a spokesperson said it “has not received a request for assistance from the state,” adding, “FEMA does not recover debris.”

SpaceX did not respond to repeated requests for comment about the incident.

April 28, 2021

When the Police Department acquired a robotic dog last year, officials heralded the four-legged device as a futuristic tool that could go places that were too dangerous to send officers.

“This dog is going to save lives,” Inspector Frank Digiacomo of the department’s technical Assistance Response Unit said in a television interview in December. “It’s going to protect people. It’s going to protect officers.”

Instead, the machine, which the police named Digidog, became a source of heated debate. After it was seen being deployed as part of the response to a home invasion in the Bronx in February, critics likened it to a dystopian surveillance drone.

And when officers used it at a public housing building in Manhattan this month, a backlash erupted again, with some people describing the device as emblematic of how overly aggressive the police can be when dealing with poor communities.

Now, the robotic dog’s days in New York have quietly been cut short.

In response to a subpoena from City Councilman Ben Kallos and Council Speaker Corey Johnson requesting records related to the device, police officials said that a contract worth roughly $94,000 to lease the robotic dog from its maker, Boston Dynamics, had been terminated on April 22.

John Miller, the Police Department’s deputy commissioner for intelligence and counterterrorism, confirmed on Wednesday that the contract had been canceled and that the dog had been returned to Boston Dynamics or would be soon.

In an interview, Mr. Miller said the lease had been scheduled to end in August and that the police had planned to test the robotic dog’s capabilities until then. The department changed its plans, he said, after the device became a “target” for people who he said had improperly used it to fuel arguments about race and surveillance.

“People had figured out the catchphrases and the language to somehow make this evil,” Mr. Miller said.

Mr. Kallos, a Democrat who represents the Upper East Side, took a different position, saying the device’s presence in New York underscored what he called the “militarization of the police.” He said the robotic dogs resembled those featured in the 2017 “Metalhead” episode of the television show “Black Mirror.”

“At a time where we should be having more beat cops on the street, building relationships with residents, they’re actually headed in another direction in trying to replace them with robots,” he said.

A spokesman for Mayor Bill de Blasio, Bill Neidhardt, said he was “glad the Digidog was put down.”

“It’s creepy, alienating and sends the wrong message to New Yorkers,” Mr. Neidhardt said.

The robotic dog’s arrival in New York came amid growing scrutiny of law enforcement agencies across the United States over their policies and practices. New York’s City Council passed a bill last summer after the police killing of George Floyd that for the first time required the Police Department to disclose information about its sophisticated arsenal of surveillance tools, which includes license plate readers, cellphone trackers and drones.

Concerns about the capabilities of high-tech devices used by law enforcement authorities erupted after the Dallas police ended a 2016 standoff with a gunman suspected of killing five officers by blowing him up using a robot.

Michael Perry, a Boston Dynamics executive, said in an interview this month that out of the roughly 500 robotic dogs that are in the field worldwide, most are being used by utility companies, on construction sites or in other commercial settings that involve dangerous situations. He said that only four of the devices were being used by police departments.

A Boston Dynamics spokeswoman said Wednesday that the company’s robots were “not designed to be used as weapons, inflict harm or intimidate people or animals.”

“We support local communities reviewing the allocation of public funds, and believe Spot is a cost-effective tool comparable to historical robotic devices used by public safety to inspect hazardous environments,” the spokeswoman said, using the company’s name for the robotic dog.

Mr. Miller said the Police Department had used robots to respond to dangerous or hazardous situations for nearly 50 years. The bomb squad, for example, uses devices that resemble small tanks and have small cameras and robotic arms to defuse or transport live explosives.

Because of its four legs, the Boston Dynamics device was more agile than the robots the police have traditionally used, Mr. Miller said, noting its ability to climb stairs. It is also cheaper than those devices, which, depending on the model, can cost $200,000 to $270,000, he said. Its video-recording tools are also better than those of older robots, he said.

The device had been used about a half-dozen times since the department acquired it last August, Mr. Miller said, including at barricade and hostage situations. He said it once delivered food to hostages in a Queens home invasion.

He allowed for the possibility that Digidog might return, saying the department could decide it was more effective than other such devices.

“But for now, this is a casualty of politics, bad information and cheap sound bytes,” he said. “We should have named it ‘Lassie.’”

A Capitol defendant who bought into former President Donald Trump’s lies about a stolen election came down with “Foxitus” and “Foxmania” after watching too much Fox News, his attorney told a court on Thursday.

Anthony Antonio’s attorney told a D.C. magistrate judge that after Antonio was laid off because of the coronavirus pandemic last year, he spent all his time living in a home with four other individuals who watched a lot of Fox News.

“For the next approximate six months, Fox television played constantly,” lawyer Joseph Hurley said. “He became hooked with what I call ‘Foxitus’ or ‘Foxmania’ and became interested in the political aspect and started believing what was being fed to him.”

Exclusive: Animals to have their feelings protected by law in Queen's Speech

Animals with a backbone will have a legal right to feel happiness and suffering in a Government drive to raise welfare standards in Tuesday's Queen’s Speech.

An Animal Sentience Bill will enshrine in law that animals are aware of their feelings and emotions, and can experience joy and pleasure, as well as pain and suffering.

"Sentience” will apply to “vertebrate animals - anything with a spinal cord", Environment secretary George Eustice told The Telegraph in an exclusive interview below.

An existing committee of experts and civil servants in Defra will be tasked with ensuring Government’s policies take into account animal sentience.

Kimd of cool. I remember one year there were literally hundreds mayne a few thousand baby turtles everywhere. Not sure why that uear was such a bonanza but there were so many you could barely walk for a few days, Mabry a week.

Looks like an Eastern box turtle.

Yeah, he has gone down a bit of a rabbit hole.

Trump activism seems to be his current addiction replacement.

IDK if you have known any severe addicts that are in recovery, but they have a tendency to replace the addictions and be evangical about whatever they get into.

At least from my personal experience.

If you live in Ohio you can get $1 million dollar if you take a covid shot lol:

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine unveiled a lottery system Wednesday to entice people to get COVID-19 shots, offering a weekly $1 million prize and full-ride college scholarships in a creative bid to overcome the vaccine hesitancy that remains a stubborn problem across the nation.

The move comes as governors, health officials and community leaders are coming up with creative incentives to get more shots in arms, including insider access to NFL locker rooms and an Indianapolis 500 garage, cash incentives, various other promotions.

With three weeks to go before most state restrictions lift, DeWine rolled out the big-ticket incentives during a prime-time address. Beginning May 26, adults who have received at least one vaccine dose may enter a lottery that will provide a $1 million prize each Wednesday for five weeks. In random drawings, the state will also provide five full four-year scholarships to an Ohio public university — including tuition, room-and-board, and books — to vaccinated Ohioans under 18.

The money will come from existing federal pandemic relief dollars, DeWine said, and the Ohio Lottery will conduct the drawings.

Other countries have other problems

http://www...ing-ban-on-new-sim-card-sales/

April 22, 2021

The recent lifting of the ban on new SIM card by the federal government will ease communication, writes Emma Okonji

Nigeria has a large population of telecoms subscribers, which reached over 200 million as at January 2021, with a teledensity of 104.89 per cent.

The figure, which keeps rising on a weekly basis, has placed Nigeria as the country with the fastest growing telecoms market in Africa and the entire world.

However, one unique feature about Nigerian subscribers is that each adult Nigerian has a minimum of two mobile phones with four SIM cards, because each mobile phone built for the African market, comes with two SIM slots. So on the average, an adult Nigerian has four lines (SIM Cards) from different telecoms service providers.

Citing insecurity in the Nigerian telecoms space, where kidnappers use unregistered SIM cards to contact the families of their victims for ransom, the federal government, in December last year, placed a ban on the sale and activation of new SIM cards, and mandated the telecoms industry regulator, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), to enforce SIM registration and linkage with the National Identification Number (NIN).

The ban placed untold hardships on telecoms subscribers, who suddenly became incommunicado after losing their mobile phones and SIM cards to pocket pickers and armed robbers.

As a result of the ban, those who lost their phones and SIM cards could not do SIM swap activation and could not buy and activate new SIMs. They became incommunicado until last month, when the federal government approved the establishment of SIM swap centres, which allowed subscribers to do SIM swap for only old SIMs that were lost. Then last week, the ban on the sale and activation of new SIM cards, was lifted.

Subscribers’ bitter experience

Nigerian subscribers have a unique culture of replacing their old SIM card with a new SIM card whenever they lose their old SIM card. The reason being that they either may have lost the SIM pack of the old SIM and cannot do SIM swap without the old SIM pack, or they do not have the patience to queue for SIM swap replacement in order to retain their former mobile phone number. They would rather buy a new SIM and activate it immediately for use.

That culture of buying a new SIM card each time they lose the old SIM card, automatically changed immediately the ban was placed on the sale and activation of new SIM card in December last year.

The ban, according to most telecoms subscribers who lost their SIM cards between December last year and last week, brought so much hardships on them because they became incommunicado and in the process, lost communication with their business customers, friends and family relatives. They however said the lifting of the ban last week, would ease communication between them and their businesses customers, friends and relatives.

Following the better experience encountered during the period when they could not communicate, subscribers under the aegis of the National Telecoms Subscribers Association of Nigeria (NATCOMS) had called on the federal government to re-direct the NCC to quickly lift the suspension order on the sale and activation of new SIM cards across networks. Some had even gone to court to challenge the federal government and the NCC over the ban.

According to them, the suspension order has made many Nigerians incommunicado, having lost their SIM cards to hoodlums and robbery attacks and could not do a ‘welcome back pack’ to retrieve their mobile lines.

National Chairman of NATCOMS, Chief Deolu Ogunbanjo, narrated the ordeals of his members while the ban lasted. He said most of his members lost businesses worth millions of Naira because their customers could not reach them on phone as usual.

“Most of our members who owned and run their businesses, and have lost their mobile phones within the period of ban, could not communicate and their customers could not reach them on phone for business transactions,” Ogunbanjo said.

Shortly after the ban was introduced in December last year, the NCC announced that the suspension order, which was at the instance of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami, would last till the completion of the audit of the Subscriber Registration Database, which seeks to achieve global standards and quality in the issuance of SIM Cards.

The Director, Public Affairs at NCC, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, who announced the suspension in a statement issued by the commission, said the action became necessary in line with the federal government desire to consolidate the achievement of the SIM Card registration exercise of September 2019. NCC therefore advised all telecoms operators to stop all sales and activation of new SIM cards on their networks.

Few days after the suspension order was given, the Association of Lisensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), through its Chairman, Mr. Gbenga Adebayo, issued a statement, informing all telecoms subscribers that the implementation of the suspension order had begun and pleaded with subscribers to bear the inconveniences it might cause them.

SIM swap extension

The federal government, through the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, in March 3, 2021, approved the establishment of SIM swap centres by Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in all local government areas of the 36 states in the country.

The essence, according to government, was to ensure the ease of SIM swap for telecoms subscribers who may have lost their old SIMs and needed SIM swap replacement and activation.

Despite the approval of SIM swap in March, the suspension of new SIM card was still enforced until last week, when the federal government lifted the ban. But even at that, government kept shifting the initial deadline for NIN-SIM linkage update and has extended it five times since December, the recent extension being May 6, 2021.

The federal government also extended the period of those licensed to carry out SIM enrolment and linkage from one year to five years period.

Lifting ban on new SIM cards

However, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Pantami, last week, lifted the ban on the sale and activation of new SIM cards, by approving the activation of new Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards.

The Minister, in agreement with industry stakeholders, also revised the National Digital Identity Policy for SIM card registration.

According to the minister, the activation of new SIM card, which was banned in December last year, would begin on Monday April 19, 2021.

Pantami therefore directed the NCC and National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to ensure the provisions of the policy were strictly followed by all operators and subscribers.

The Mi,ister said the implementation of the policy and issuance of new SIMs and other suspended activities would resume on the same date of April 19, 2021, provided that verification had been completed and the guidelines fully adhered to.

According to a statement signed by the Technical Assistant (Information Technology) to the Minister, Dr. Femi Adeluyi, an earlier policy was approved on February 4, 2020, while the revised policy was developed in early March 2021. The policy was further improved and endorsed for implementation by President Muhammadu Buhari, on March 26, 2021.

“The final amendments to the revised policy, based on the directives of President Muhammadu Buhari to make the use of National Identification Number (NIN) mandatory for all SIM registration, were completed April, 14, 2021,” the statement further said.

With the lifting of the ban on the sale and activation of new SIM cards, telecoms subscribers have commended the decision of government to lift the ban, saying it will ease communication among person to person and business to business.

https://www.engadget.com/new-york-state-report-fcc-net-neutrality-repeal-170517463.html

Before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted to repeal net neutrality at the end of 2017, the agency collected public opinion on the policy. In all, it said it received nearly 22 million comments. Over the years, there's been a fair amount of discussion surrounding where many of those came from, with a study from that same year suggesting that only six percent of the comments were unique.

Following years of investigation, the Office of New York State Attorney General Letitia James has published a report on exactly what happened in 2017. The investigation found the "largest" broadband companies funded a secret astroturfing campaign to push the FCC toward repealing net neutrality. At the time, AT&T, Comcast, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon (Engadget's parent company) were in favor of repealing the policy. The industry hired several third-party firms to build public support for their decision. Ostensibly, those companies were supposed to convince people to support the broadband industry with incentives like gift cards and prizes. Instead, they simply submitted 8.5 million fake comments. The attorney general has fined three of the companies involved in sending in those comments $4.4 million.

On the other side, the FCC received another 9.3 million fake comments in support of maintaining net neutrality. According to the report, most of those came from a single college student, who was 19 at the time. They used automated software to generate the responses. All told, of the more than 22 million comments the FCC received on the matter, James says more than 18 million were fake. Put another way, more than 80 percent of the input the agency collected to inform its decision didn't come from real people.

"Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reveals she’s in therapy following ‘attempted coup’ at Capitol

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says she is in therapy following the "all-out, attempted coup" at the Capitol on 6 January.

Speaking to the weekly public radio show Latino USA on Friday, Ms Ocasio-Cortez said members of Congress effectively "served in war" during the traumatising event that had "deeply affected lawmaking" and impacted the legislative process.

"After the 6th I took some time and it was really Ayanna Pressley when I explained to her what happened to me, like the day of, because I ran to her office and she was like, ‘you need to recognise trauma’," Ms Ocasio-Cortez said.

Marjorie Taylor Greene on Nancy Pelosi requiring masks until all vaccinated:

"You know, we can look back in a time in history where people were told to wear a gold star, and they were definitely treated like second-class citizens — so much so that they were put in trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany and this is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about."

then Greene later defending the comment:

Yes, and you can count me in that group as well, refering to he should run again. I accept Biden won legally, albeit through shadier means than usual (shadow campaign, disengenously DNC rigging, changing election laws etc.) But most elections are rather shady.

Biden isnt the anti Christ. So far its a mixed bag that isn't too too bad. We still dont have $15 min wage or UHC, but we wouldn't get that from the Reps either.

He is gaying everything up though, like the military. Handling the Israeli conflict IMO* was his first bout of successfully executed FP.

The democrats are finally coming to terms that Trump was probably right about the Wuhan Lab leak and the left wing media pushed a misleading narrative because Trump said it.

That's very much so cultish behaviour. The cult of anti-trump is at least as string as the pro Trump, probably stronger.

He is so tiring to deal with. I can't stand his utter hypocrisy on anything not related to Trump.

Also, its beyond obvious now that his problem was never with Trump as a person; he only hated Trump for being a conservative. If he really didn't care about politics, he wouldn't be jumping to the defense of every far-left idea that Democrats shit out these days.

The truth is that he's a radical leftist, who hated Trump because Trump was on the moderate right. Trump's Twitter rants and various controversies were just an ancillary reason to attack him.
