Why does the US want to do that all of a sudden when they have ignored those countries before? And why won’t the US build back better USA instead? US infrastructure is cracking apart at many places. Maybe it takes China to start to build in the US for the US itself to start building?

If they simply required audits for funds already sent or allocated most the problems would be solved. Embezzlement and fraud in the target countries is why things are as bad as they are now.

Instead of bilking their own country out of billions they get to bilk the world. Belt and road accepted a butt ton of money around the world for large infrastructure projects then abandoned the projects. Just like they have been doing in China for decades. I can see why other unscrupulous countries would want to emulate that. Have other countries give you billions of dollars then do nothing and keep the money. President Biden will screw it up though. Instead of doing the bilking he will see to it the US is the nation that gets fucked.
Habebe Member	Mon Jun 14 19:50:31 Kargen, I dont think it was about fraudulent building shit as much as 1.Giving China leverage on these nations who now owe them for loans.This is debatabley nefarious, deoends how they use that leverage I guess. 2. Diversifying their shipping routes. 3. Effectively controlling key bits of infrastructure like ports either through neo colonialism. Not terrible ideas per say, just a poor execution.
