This was the event that broke my belief in the Republican party. I was pretty culturally raised to love the Republican party and did into early adulthood. Then this shit happened and I couldn't believe the betrayal of trust that they would twist information to excuse an offensive war. It was about a year into the Iraq disaster when it became obvious the WMD - 9/11 excuses were lies.
