What you define as the rich paying their "fair share," and how are they currently delinquent in doing so?

When a Democrat says "the rich need to pay their fair share," that's usually just code-speak for "we're about to spend a shitload of money and we're going to soak the rich to pay fo it."

"What you define as the rich paying their "fair share," and how are they currently delinquent in doing so?"

I define it as them paying taxes on all their income and not just the portion that they can't find a way to hide or shield.

from Forbes 400 list: "The 400 wealthiest Americans saw their collective fortune increase 40% over the last year"

they seem to be doing ridiculously fine...

And federal revenues also saw their highest levels ever. What's your point?

Also that 40% probably comes principally from unrealized appreciation on investments, which you can't tax.

So stop quoting wealth numbers. Income and realized gains is the relevant metric here.

You can tax anything if you want to.

"So stop quoting wealth numbers"

That's a straw man to cry injustice about though. Unrealized gains eventually become realized.

No.

We need a two tier flat tax on personal income. No deductions just pay a percentage. That won't work with businesses though because they need to be able to invest. Still less loop holes and lower rates is the way to go.
Might also be worth looking at a federal sales tax on non essential items.

Oh and quit spending so fucking much. There needs to be a freeze on raising federal spending. There also needs to be an audit of every agency and government entity. Any funds not accounted for is removed from the next years budget and the budget is froze at that amount until they get their books in order. That includes the military.

Not true. Unrealized gains are often never realized, but simply used as collateral to obtain spending money tax-free. Ask me how I know.
