Great movie, lots of fun, great hallucinatory graphics, very well written lines, great and brave acting, etc. Then I read the reviews by the big papers and they all love it too, which is well-deserved and nice. And then you finally stumble across a conservative review, the national review, this bastion of conservative intellectualism and theyre disgusted by the sight of the naked human body, this vile contraption that must be hidden away and only spoken about in hushed and ashamed tones. They even manage to squeeze the not even remotely connected Hunter Biden in there in connection with a brothel scene. In a movie review.
These people are so low, so intellectually crippled, so utterly hung up with Victorian obsessions with sex. There is nothing in the movie that is intended to entice any normal penis to feel the slightest twitch, but the national review's dick has apparently been shaking like it was afflicted with Parkinsons all through the movie and so they must disguise their idiotic shame by disavowing and hail marying away their sinful thoughts. Uncultured, anti-intellectual, children. Conservatism seems to be the product of very bad parents perpetuated by beating the same bad upbringing into their poor kids, for which me all must suffer.

"My kids must not grow up into thoughtful, caring, developed, civilized humans. They must be beaten into becoming mighty, violent warriors who will attack anyone who offends them. The naked body is disgusting and must never be spoken apart from when we want to sneak off to brothels and rape a prostitute, but John Wayne committing genocide on those foreign redskins, now THAT'S wholesome fun for the whole family"

"this bastion of conservative intellectualism and theyre disgusted by the sight of the naked human body"

Whose naked body?

Also why the hell are you looking for movie reviews on political websites?

It sounds like you kept reading reviews until you found something to get wound up over.

Emma Stonnes naked body. I was reading rotten tomatoes, not searching political sites. What actually offends them is that she does things that a pretty pinup shouldnt do, like vomit and swear.

I clicked on national review, because every other header was gushing about how good it actuall is, and then there was one lone one that stood out for being disgusted and all about sex and nudity while no other reviewe had the slightest interest in that:

"The basic response to any Yorgos Lanthimos film is repulsion. Anyone delighted by Poor Things, his smirky, smutty uglification of The Bride of Frankenstein, falls for his usual depravity."

He was ashamed that all his depraved smutty little conservative mind could think about was emma stone being nude but not having the decency to be a pretty little nude pinup
