For god's sake no one tune in!

I don't know why Biden's team keeps letting him speak in public as if anything good could possibly come of it. :o

"how many times will Marjorie shout out 'fuck you!'"

I take it we're asserting that incivility during SotU is a Trump-era innovation? Because, well...

"Unless you’re there on the floor, you don’t really appreciate what’s going on," Justice Alito told the Journal in an interview last spring. "The members [of Congress] are extremely vocal. . . . I remember during one where President Bush was speaking, and the leaders behind us were saying, 'Bulls—! That’s bulls—!' They’re always making these comments, and loud enough so you could hear it two or three rows away."

“guy who says some cringe shit”
yeah, it’s waaaay worse than that... him having no clue about any issues, him -regularly- just making shit up instead, him totally detached from truth, him with no respect for the law (he openly did and plans to continue trying to sic the DOJ on his enemies, which you hate Biden for despite no evidence at all Biden has)

[tumbletard (TDS Bot, totalitarian sycophant)]: "he openly did and plans to continue trying to sic the DOJ on his enemies, which you hate Biden for despite no evidence at all Biden has"

Oh no, guise. Trump might do the thing that Biden is actively doing, and that's bad because tumblefag doesn't think Biden is doing it but *does* think that Trump is doing it. Even if you take tumbletard at his (deceptive) word, that would mean that neither side can agree on what a weaponized DoJ looks like, so each side simply has to weaponize the DoJ without caring about the other side's input. In that case, rhetorically tumblefag's input has no value and Trump can YOLO the DoJ. Cool, cool.

I won't get that from the current guy either...you forget 2020 all of a sudden?

The current guy openly pressured Garland to go after Trump...and that's to say nothing about the next generation of Democratic candidates, who are even worse.

If you're still defending the blatant lawfare campaigns from the like of Letitia James etc., who have repeatedly, openly, and explicitly made it known that they are going after Trump *purely* because he is Trump, and yet you're still claiming that *Trump* is the biggest threat to our system of government...I don't know what to tell you.

BTW, Bernie Sanders was on POS Stephen Colbert's show this week celebrating the scalping of Sinema for the "crime" of being a moderate...I guess purity tests are only bad if they come from the right though?

“I won't get that from the current guy either...you forget 2020 all of a sudden? ”

you just did

what did Biden do to provoke or support any BLM related violence?

Letitia James isn’t running for President

Trump openly accuses opponents of crimes repeatedly (rarely specifying the crime as there isn’t one, or going over the top with ‘treason’) and running on retribution with the cult wanting half the govt imprisoned (as they went after Trump!)... plus corruptly trying to get DOJ to lie they suspected mass fraud when he -knew- they didn’t

yet you hold out a story of a leak to the press of Biden wanting Garland to shit or get off the pot as worse... and Garland didn’t charge, it was Smith, and it wasn’t over some crimes Biden made-up, it was over what was well established (& not disputed) by J6 hearings, and over a completely clear sequence of events on docs, where no way in hell they would’ve given him so much time to (fall to) comply if politically charging him was the goal (he fucking hid docs from his own lawyer to ensure not returned! justify that... and his bad faith response to subpoena and moving/hiding was the reason they -had- to ‘raid’)

[tumbletard (TDS Bot, totalitarian sycophant)]: "what did Biden do to provoke or support any BLM related violence?"

I'll just place a reminder here that the last time tumbletard pretended that Biden was blessedly pure on the issue of the DNC–BLM Insurrection I made a list of sourced items describing how the Biden White House supported the BLM insurrectionists during, before, and after being installed... and tumbletard didn't read that either. This was the same thread where he pretended that Politburo apparatchiks (Regime "journalists") totally didn't support the BLM Insurrection ("riots"), bro!

Again, totalitarian sycophants and cultists are on a totally different morality than noble peoples. They truly do not perceive their wrongdoing. If you are on two moral frameworks, then you simply have to not care about the fears of your opposition; if the left cannot see its faults, then Trump *must* "weaponize" (by the left's vocabulary) the DoJ against the left. What good is there in showing mercy to an impenitent criminal?

It's just so bizarre that we're two years into this thing and Biden has provided zero insights for what our end goal should look like.

Okay, he wants us to send tens of billions of dollars to help Ukraine "stop" Russia, aka maintain the status quo. How is that going to eventually translate into strategic victory? Russia loves doing these long-term grinding wars and Putin has a special boner for Ukraine.

Do we just continue shoveling money to Ukraine for years or decades until Putin dies? Do we see any signs at all that Putin is willing to negotiate? Do we see any signs at all that Ukraine can turn this current statement into an actual victory?

We the public aren't being given answers to any of this. At this point, we need some clarity on the proposed exit plans.

What does a likely endgame in Ukraine look like to you?
williamthebastard

Fri Mar 08 12:13:20
the most likely outcome? The outcome will vary wildly depending on who the next US president is. Putin is holding out in the hope that Trump will win. If Trump wins, Ukraine is fucked but the Russian occupation will be plagued by "terrorist"/ guerilla warfare. If Biden wins and the GOP doesnt thwartv his efforts to continue to send aid to Ukraine, there is some reasonable likelihood that together with the increasing threats from Macron et al as the world gets sick of this stalemate there might be an escalated increase in pressure on Russia. Putin is going to be more willing to back down somewhat anyway if Trump loses. I would guess.

Its a bit surprising that the west hasnt responded with Russias tactic of troll farms spreading rumours and fake propaganda in Russia. I suppose its because they want to maintain the slight edge in credibility they have over Russia, in the same way that the cops have to sort of stick to their promises when providing protection for mafia turncoats, not because theyre honest dudes but because the whole informant system collapses if they dont

Western governments has its troll farms. Most Western mainstream media is full of fake propaganda and rumors about the war and Russia. Western intelligence services are the content creators a.k.a the ”independent journalists”. I have begun to think that some of of what they publish are not first and foremost intended for the Western audience, but for Russians. Russians can still access Western media websites. So they are the target audience. But then, many Westerners, such as WTB and Seb :o) are of course going to fall for this fake propaganda as well.

All Biden had to do to avoid Ukraine was sit down and hammer out a security agreement that would have seen peace, stability and prosperity in Europe for the next 20+ years, then actually live by what he had agreed to.

There would have been no war, all the arms control treaties would be in place, essentially demobilization on both sides and all those European factories and homes running off cheap Russian gas forever.

Instead - the path of escalation and retardation.

BTW Trump could have done the same thing, he's no saint in this, nor would he actually fix things.

We live in a stupid time, ruled by idiots voted into office by immigrants, with no real path to restoring any type of morality in our leadership.

But this is always easier in hindsight. Nobody knew it would get this band in the early days. We were all watching ukranian civilians stand in the way of russian tanks and spitting on them and it looked like it might be another little green men expedition with not much bloodshed. At the time it was a definite possibility that it might not get too violent if not provoked by international interventions. Even Ukraine was telling Biden to settle down and not provoke Putin

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on the West not to create panic amid the build-up of Russian troops on his country's borders.

He told reporters that warnings of an imminent invasion were putting Ukraine's economy at risk.

On Thursday, US President Joe Biden said he believed Russia could attack its neighbour next month.

This was a slightly surreal encounter. One after another, journalists asked Ukraine's president about the threat. But Volodymyr Zelensky batted away the questions, accusing the press itself of causing panic.

President Joe Biden said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy tuned out warnings that Russia would invade his country in the lead-up to the Feb. 24 attack.
“I know a lot of people thought I was maybe exaggerating, but I knew, and we had data to sustain, he was going in off the border. There was no doubt. And Zelenskiy didn’t want to hear it, nor did a lot of people,” Biden said Friday during a political fundraiser in Los Angeles.
The president acknowledged that the possibility of Russian President Vladimir Putin launching a full-scale invasion may have seemed far-fetched, saying, “I understand why they didn’t want to hear it.”

Yet here we are Bill.
This is Putin's war. He own's it. He alone made the decision to engage in war.

Europe now has the decision, are they going to roll over and let Putin take over all of Europe? Or are they going to come to the aid of Ukraine.

We are aiding Ukraine. The problem mainly is that Ukraine is running out of frontline soldiers. We can't replace those. Very few Nato countries have their ground forces intact after cannibalizing them to aid Ukraine. Finland is one (but is not set up for force projection), France another. And the USA.

Do you seriously want boots on the ground in Ukraine?

According to Ukraine, it has about 300k on the frontlines of 1 million in total in addition to a couple 100d k security forces (like policemen, customs and non combat border guards).

It also has a mobilization age of 27, not 18 and has relatively few women in the armed forces.

Ukraine can do a lot to bolster its frontline forces. At the very least lower its mobilization age to 18 and demonstrate it is taking the war seriously.

Ultimately, it is short about 7k general infantry grunts in the trenches right now. You would think that is a surmountable challenge, though attrition is of course ongoing.
