And yet, people on the right are consistently having to explain to these Regime sycophants that Homelander and Soldier Boy are appreciated *despite* the writers' attempts to make them into "[muh fascism]". And the writers can't just make Dennis Quaid's son Jack *not* seem like an abysmal pussy, and the Ashley Barrett character being a stand-in for "[muh leftist trauma]" just makes her seem all the more pathetic. I.e., people intuitively recognize strong and weak people, and while the writers are attempting to "subvert" strength and weakness, the right can watch the show and only be shown by the writers that the right is absolutely correct to hate these degenerates.

I can take a step back and see that there are political opportunists on the right who purposely take advantage of the lowest common denominator. Plus the general morality of the story is still worth supporting. You need to kill evil. And I love that butcher went full evil and became what he has been fighting against the entire series. That narrative is always good to explore. Neuman didn't deserve to go out like that. She was the only one who could take a laser blast from homelander and not flinch. And butcher ripped her apart.
