One of my biggest realizations as I became an adult was reading about him and realizing that on paper, he was the ultimate Christian, small town, down home, candidate. And the only reason so many Christians didn't like him as president could only be explained political identity dynamics.

A big clue into realizing most people don't really care about what leaders believe in. Only in that they make them feel like they are part of a tribe.
