Member | Wed Apr 16 11:12:33 It turns out that politicians who engage in abuses of power and misapplying the law to prosecute their political opponents can equally be the victims of such malign behavior. This is what we plebs call "karma." Turns out there isnt a single person on the planet who cant be the target of lawfare. ---- "Donald Trump's administration is accusing New York Attorney General Letitia James of mortgage fraud, and has made a criminal referral to the the justice department seeking federal prosecution. Officials with the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) allege James falsified bank and property records to receive better loan agreements, an administration official told the BBC. James won a civil case against Trump in 2023 that accused him of overvaluing his properties in order to take out loans with favourable terms. He is currently appealing against the judgment." http://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c7vn1rymz38o |

Pulte also alleged that James claimed a property in Norfolk, Virginia, was her primary residence in 2023" lol if true this is actually much more substantial than arguing about the square footage of a condo |

A banana republic where a partisan prosecutor like Alvin Bragg can literally make up a legal argument out of thin air and use it to procure a criminal conviction. If I was a Republican, I wpuld cut my own dick off before risking a bullshit prosecution by doing business in NY. |

the wanderer | Wed Apr 16 18:20:25 "this is actually much more substantial than arguing about the square footage of a condo" how so? not sure how fewer units improves value to begin w/ but that's a 20% change (if even accurate) vs a 300%... i think 300% bigger... (also that was just 1 of numerous properties Trump deliberately bullshitted about) given Trump has specifically targeted numerous law firms who he feels wronged him (despite no actual wrong-doing), i'll bet this investigation was completely corrupt... but they can present their evidence, if anything even comes of it (& i'll bet James will have a defense, unlike Trump who offered no explanation for any of it... except a brilliant 'square feet is subjective' one) |

You can qualify a 4-unit as a personal residence for many loan programs (including VA), but five and up is commercial. It's a direct misrepresentation of the type of property. |

the wanderer | Thu Apr 17 11:04:46 which Trump also did for Mar-a-lago, which I suspect was of substantially more value... (again, if even true for Letitia James, I trust zero out of this disgusting lying dictatorship) |
