The outlet spoke with four people with knowledge of the chat whom it did not identify. The information shared included “the flight schedules for the F/A-18 Hornets targeting the Houthis in Yemen” — more or less the same information that was also accidentally shared with the Atlantic’s editor Jeffrey Goldberg. Hegseth’s wife Jennifer is a former Fox News producer who has been criticized for attending sensitive meetings alongside her husband. His brother Phil Hegseth and lawyer Tim Parlatore work at the Pentagon. The newspaper also noted that unlike the first group chat, this second chat was created by Hegseth. “It included his wife and about a dozen other people from his personal and professional inner circle in January, before his confirmation as defense secretary, and was named ‘Defense | Team Huddle,’ the people familiar with the chat said. He used his private phone, rather than his government one, to access the Signal chat.” The first group chat was created by national security adviser Mike Waltz, who also said he was responsible for adding Goldberg to the group. On March 30 Goldberg told Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press” he was “not worried” about being bullied by the group. On March 30 Goldberg told Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press” he was “not worried” about being bullied by the group. “There’s a playbook that — and you know this as a journalist, I’m not the only journalist to be the target of these kind of attacks — when they do something wrong, they go on the attack and they attack the messenger.” The strange part of the story, the editor noted, is that “I didn’t really actually do anything. I’d like to claim that I was some bold investigative reporter here. All I did was answer a message request from Mike Waltz on Signal, and then the rest of it just came on my phone.” http://www...ed-yemen-attack-214218980.html |

Member | Mon Apr 21 15:14:39 One is almost temped to ask how you would honestly have reacted if Obama had done the same thing, but you, I and every single other person here knows that it is beyond your psychological make-up to even pretend to answer with a microgram of honesty. The worst aspect is that you know it, but your only interest is how to lie about that physical fact. |

Member | Mon Apr 21 15:25:57 The dishonesty of earlier political rhetorical dishonesty used to be, how do I answer that with as few lies that I could get tripped up on as possible, but without telling the truth? The GOP rhetoric is, how do I lie as uninhibitedly as possible, as much as possible without a care in the world of getting tripped up by facts, and make it into a soundbite? |

the wanderer | Mon Apr 21 16:34:42 "Nothing classified was shared" still sucking on that bullshit? launch times of the F-18s not classified?... ok, so maybe no process ever happened where it was officially classified... well should it be shared? does it make a fucking bit of difference whether technically classified? also recall on first Signal mention, R's were 'well, they've admitted the mistake & will correct' so it's all ok Hegseth never admitted shit... he lied & misled start to finish (as obaminated bought)... & doing same now about this & the other mentions of dysfunction at the Pentagon |

Member | Wed Apr 23 05:05:02 Hegseth pulled info from secure channel for Signal chats: Report Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth pulled the airstrike information he posted into Signal chats with his wife, brother and dozens of others from a secure communications channel used by U.S. Central Command, raising new questions as to whether the embattled Pentagon head leaked classified information over an open, unsecured network. NBC News first reported that the launch times and bomb drop times of U.S. warplanes that were about to strike Houthi targets in Yemen — details that multiple officials have said are highly classified — were taken from secure U.S. Central Command communications. A person familiar with the second chat confirmed that to The Associated Press. Read the rest here: http://www...annel-for-signal-chats-report/ |

the wanderer | Wed Apr 23 14:39:49 would be pretty fucking weird to find evidence he -intended- to violate the law on handling classified info basically Hillary, but w/ far more sensitive info & should have been a lot more obvious to the actor & whereas Hillary said learned a lesson wouldn't do again, Hegseth just lying & obfuscating about it... (& Trump of course fully on board w/ that strategy) completely obviously two pieces of shit |
