The administration's chief focus was on an economic policy guided by MMT stupidity and divisive social issues that 80% of the country hated, but because the base is now run by leftwing idiots they felt compelled to push it. Biden promised to be a unifier and then proceeded to treat the opposition as little more than unindicted criminals. There was so much stupidity from those four years. Biden was the great chance to move on from Trump through competent administration and a climb-down in the partisan rhetoric. Instead, he proved that the Democrats are no longer a serious party at all.

Planes are faster than trains - so for a train to make sense, it needs to offer something that offsets the loss of speed, such as a cheaper ticket. Saying that CHSR has had "lots of problems" is a massive understatement. The project is years behind schedule and ridiculously over budget. Cost estimates have ballooned from $33 to $135 BILLION. The full route isn't even under construction right now - the only part that is is a section between Bakersfield and Merced, two cities that NO ONE needs high-speed rail to travel between. The full route is now projected to take until 2038 to complete, and even that is doubtful at this point. Keep in mind, CA voters had approved this project all the way back in 2008. California has definitely proven that it is incapable of completing this project. Throwing good money after bad here would be an act of fiscal insanity.
