Authoritarians are, of course, the most frightened portion of the population. Theyre the ones shrieking “We need armed guards patrolling our back yard or else someone will attack and kill us! We need to lock ourselves in a prison of our own making with 6 bolts on the doors! We need more guns or else we lie awake all night in fear! We need more atom bombs! We need to make friends with the school bully so he doesnt bully us! We need Big Daddy to threaten the other kids in the global playground to feel safe! We need Big Daddy Job Creators because we cant create our own livelihoods!” etc.

Do you remember when you became this frightened of everything? Do you remember why? Authoritarianism is generally linked to paternalism, psychologically - having a big strong Daddy (as they embarrassingly call Trump) even as an adult to protect you.

Authoritarianism is well-established as generally being linked to paternalism/daddy issues. Did your daddy beat you? Were you afraid of him? Did he make you feel utterly dependent on him for food and survival?
How did you become frightened children in adult bodies?

You literally want to kill people who political opinions that differ from yours.

You don't get to accuse others of being authoritarian.

Bullies always had their followers. Most of them were eager to jump on the band wagon. Happy to do the bidding of the Big Dog. Hoping that the Big Dog wouldn't turn on them.
