The Straight is not closed. Iran has shipped more oil through the straight than it did before the war. It is just closed to some loser countries :).

I was 100 m from one of its heliships. Drove by not far from Narvik about a week ago. Practice landings. A few days later 4 helis from the Mistral class in low combat formation flew back and forth over the house. They were using the valley for low altitude penetration training I wager. Interesting, though the cat was displeased with the house vibrating.
