The 1 ship the royal navy claimed to be working well enough to deploy... Is now broken.

Or the UK is simply affording an excuse not to bother. Nobody wants to be linked to what you are doing sammy. Because it is very bad.

Bwomming Iran is ILLEEEEEEEEEGAL!!!

Lol

The real reason is the UK is incompetent and can't even surge a single destroyer.

There is also a rumor her air defense didn't work and a hezb missile got her. That seems unlikely and still bad, but less gay.

What a scheduled maintenance stop in the based at cypress she's protecting and can continue to protect from dock?

Are you fucking kidding me?

It's not like she's dropped a couple of planes over the edge into the drink, bashed herself up on a cargo ship, caught fire that took the fire over 24 hours to subdue and had the toilets fail.

If you are reading the daily mail, important to read at least the third paragraph a that's where they inevitably admit the first two paragraphs are essentially lies.

So after being deployed for like a week or 2 she needs a mx stop?

Do you get the feeling the UK is dragging its heels? I wonder why. Rofl.

Because starmer/seb are cowards and appeasers without a working navy?

You feel like the UK is appeasing you? You do get that you are the Hitler in this analogy, right?

NaMBLA.

She was pulled out of maintenance to deploy. She was in dry dock for 6 weeks maintenance to go when the decision to deploy was made and expected to go into routine deployment in home waters after. They compressed that down to one week by deferring routine maintenance that could be deferred or completed in Cyprus (seems to be related to desal system) and kitted her out for sustained high intensity operations.

All this crap from the daily mail and telegraph is just thinly veiled bullshit to attack the govt. from the same papers that championed the govt that cut us from 12 down to 6 DDs in the first place so they could give tax breaks to the CSams that have gone to live in Dubai and now expect us to fund their evacuations.

"She was pulled out of maintenance to deploy.”

Yes.

Because you don't have a working navy.

Bottom line, Dragon can track and shoot down drones and missiles aimed at Akrotiri while it's tied to the pier getting it's desalination plant serviced.

It's not a big deal.

NaMBLA:

We do, it's just committed elsewhere, either patrolling the Atlantic keeping an eye on Russian sub activity or on exercises with the carrier strike group.

To be honest you've missed the obvious point: why do we need to send a DD to shoot down drones in Akorotiri. We have land based systems and our jets providing air defence for gulf states operate out of there.

As Jergul said, this is mostly so we can tell the US the RN is otherwise occupied while we wait for your stupid illegal war to burn itself out.

"Dragon can track and shoot down drones and missiles aimed at Akrotiri while it's tied to the pier"

There's much more ground clutter near a pier. Even a dunce like you should know that.

NaMBLA:

Both SBA's docks face out to the east med and the SAMPSON is on a mast 40 meters above the waterline.

It's the most sophisticated and high performing search and tracking radar afloat. It's not going to get screwed up by a low harbour wall.

It can happily detect and track Iran's flying lawnmowers across the eastern Mediterranean, and one of the great things about vertical launch is the missile climbs vertically and then orients rather than flying off the rail into the harbour wall.

Lol no

"face out to the east"

And if the Iranians program a turn in and don't come from the east?

NaMBLA:

Lol yes actually.

A map might help you here. The idea that you would get a Shaheed to somehow manoeuvre round cypress to attack Akrotiri from the north west while somehow staying outside the tracking and engagement range of a type 45 isn't particularly plausible scenario.

But hey, that's why we have wildcats and crows nest helicopters as part of the compliment. I don't think we really need to expending sea-ceptors on the flying lawnmowers.

But sure, weather-pedo. Keep making a fool of yourself with these ridiculous claims. If it keeps you off other unwholesome activities it is for the best.

”to somehow manoeuvre"

You mean to fly a preprogrammed route with like 2 extra waypoints that Microsoft flight simulator from 1994 could have managed?

OMG you are even more retarded than I thought.

Like I said, While staying outside the 400km tracking and 150km engagement range of a type 45.

You tell me what the magical waypoints are that let it do that. These aren't sea skimming missiles and SAMPSON is good for those anyway).

Dragon can literally see these things being launched from Lebanon, and send a wildcat to shoot it down with a machine gun.

There's no credible path where a Shaheed can sneak up on Dragon even dockside in Akrotiri. This is obvious to anyone with a map.

What a fucking idiot you are.

Pillz:

Christ you are dumb. Show me the curved line that gets a Shaheed from Lebanon to attack Akrotiri from the northwest without going through an area that Dragon can track (hard given Dragon can see the launch points directly), and Shaheeds aren't terrain hugging cruise missiles but slow, ultra cheap flying lawn mowers.

The issue isn't that Shaheeds can manoeuvre, it's that that's literally no terrain they can hide behind. And even if there was, the ship carries a look down radar mounted on a helicopter.

Check a fucking map you retards.

It's like you are standing in the middle of huge flat open field stretching off to the horizon with a bush behind you with a gun and your attacker is 200 meters away in front of you, and saying "oh no, what if that guy sneaks up around me from behind the bush and attacks me with his knife".

No amount of way points are going to let that guy sneak behind the bush and attack you from behind without you shooting him first.

Only, these are fucking Shaheeds. So it's not a guy so much as a guy in a wheel chair with a highvis jacket and a speaker playing loud music.

If they were launching hundreds of them at the same time, that might be an issue but they aren't, because IRGC don't have that level of presence in Lebanon - at least not with that kind of weapon.
