Given California's open primary system, the more Democrats ran for governor the higher the chance they'd split the vote and allow a Republican to sneak into the top two.

Knifing Swalwell obviously helps with this problem.

Anyway, Swalwell was a hugely partisan hack who made his career out of generating manufactured outrage against the Orange Man for every small thing he did. I say good riddance, dumbass.
