rank | Mon Apr 13 16:08:37 The two DDs were chased off by an Iranian speedboat. You cant make stuff like this up. In other news, oil production numbers for March are in: "The production dip was the most notable in monthly terms in Iraq (by 2.563 mln barrels per day (bpd) and in Saudi Arabia (by 2.563 mln bpd), OPEC said. Iran reduced oil production by 182,000 barrels daily, the organization noted." April will be worse as march production was maintained to some extent by local storage capacity that is now full. |

rank | Tue Apr 14 10:43:07 There is a video out there. The DDs did not sail into the Persian Gulf habebe. They would be trapped there, so would literally limit US escalation options as the DD would potentially pay the price for that. At best, they sailed in the Gulf of Oman before turning back. Still rather dangerous. Fleets rely on collective defence. 1-2 vessels are way more vulnerable to anti-shipping missiles. |

rank | Tue Apr 14 12:28:20 China does not need PG oil. It can easily divert oil from elsewhere by paying more for it than anyone else can. It also has 1.4 trillion barrels in strategic reserve. Chinese shipping companies may need to transport contracts though. 20% of oil and gas goes through the gulf and 5% of other shipping does. That gives a lot of unused shipping capacity. |

rank | Tue Apr 14 16:26:27 Any links to the video? It seems suspicious that Iran wouldn't take credit for chasing off the US Navy it actually happened. WTB, The Navy blockade is only against Iranian ships. |

rank | Tue Apr 14 16:33:13 :-) https://ww...us-blockade-irans-ports-day-2/ 5:48 AM Russia's oil export revenues nearly doubled during Iran war, IEA reports Russia nearly doubled its earnings from oil exports in March as Moscow was granted sanctions relief in a bid to offset soaring energy prices during the war in the Middle East, the International Energy Agency said Tuesday. The country earned $19 billion last month as crude and oil product exports rose to 7.1 million barrels per day, an increase of 320 thousand barrels a day from February levels. The United States eased some restrictions on sales of Russian crude imposed over its war against Ukraine, allowing countries to purchase oil that was already at sea until April 11. |
