Dow up 1,100 points, S&P at new ATH.

Turns out 401(k)s auto-investing in equities plus a president who openly pumps the markets via well-timed Truth Social posts is all you need to have a roaring bull market.

To quote Adam Smith, "market only goes up."

did Adam Smith say, "market only goes up."

No—Adam Smith never said “market only goes up.”

That phrase is a modern meme from internet investing culture, especially around stocks and crypto.

If anything, Smith would likely be skeptical of a statement like that—it ignores volatility, downturns, and economic cycles.

Well that and inflation. Inflation helps stocks and especially property.

”401(k)s auto-investing in equities"

That's like 90% of investing 101 though. Dump everything into s&p500 etf and forget about it.

Trump made a bunch of almost certainly false claims on a Friday... how unusual...

the twitter cultists are celebrating brilliant Trump's blockade forcing Iran to 'cave'

um... opening the Strait was already expected when the ceasefire started 10 days ago, that was literally the whole point... but they didn't as Israel was still bombing Lebanon, now that stopped, thus opening Strait as expected from the start...
(and no 'permanent' agreement as fuckhead lied)

and him also claiming they agreed to never enrich, & give us the 'nuclear dust' (enriched uranium) w/ no indication of that whatsoever

also pretty sure Iran still w/ plan to toll

nothing actually achieved (though as i said from the start i don't think Trump will restart the war, he's entirely in just lie-about-success mode, so maybe markets won't tank again when turns out Trump lying, as he always is)

"nothing actually achieved"

Incorrect.

"S&P 500 notches first close above 7,100, Nasdaq posts longest win streak since 1992"

Sam

Yeah, but ETFs have only made up a sizable amount of the market for a relatively short period.

Just seems like the percentage of investing that's automatic is increasing every year, which helps put perpetual upward pressure on the market. Hard for the S&P to suffer a crash when it's getting reliable fresh inflows of capital every pay period from a substantial portion of the American workforce.
