I guess the benefit of of having such an honorless low trust society with a bit of oil money is that you have high quality security cameras on everything, plus some decent quality Chinese phone cameras.

So the usual showmanship. Not that it matters in particular. Anyone thinking drones can cripple Russia is implicitly saying Ukraine will lose. Given Russia's dominance in strike capability into rear areas, it is best to hope such things mostly have nuisance value.
