Three dead in explosion at Moscow cafe

Three people were killed in an explosion at a cafe in central Moscow on Saturday, Russian state news agency Tass reported.
Another 21 people were injured.

A woman allegedly tried to enter the premises with an explosive device, the country's national anti-terrorist agency said, according to Tass. The bomb went off when a security guard tried to stop her.

The woman, the guard and a guest were killed, according to the agency.

The cafe is located on Kudrinskaya Square, where one of Moscow's "Seven Sisters", the so-called Stalinist skyscrapers, stands.

The city's annual night cycling festival has been canceled due to the incident.

The explosion occurred around 6 p.m. local time.

My guess is that the suicide bomber came from Ukraine.

Damn too bad she didn't get in and get more high value targets. Apparently it was a dinner for Russian generals. A very valid target.

Jihadummy, the unsuspecting courier was one of the victims. It was a terrorist attack due to the method of delivery. You cannot fedex bombs and think you are fighting in a legitimate and valid way.

Here's the relevant rule of war.

674.4: if you ever are so dishonorable that you posion a bunch of civilians inside a nato city with polonium, then, natos friend gets to blow up your generals with FedEx bombs whenever it wants, forevermore.

Anyway, probably tit-for-tat attempt by Ukraine. It lost a couple Secret Service commanders last week to car bombs. That killed only the targets. There seems to be a competence divide as one would expect.
