First they said that Putin is the biggest threat and that he is going to kill us all. But now they say that AI is the biggest threat and that AI will kill all humans by 2030.

But if AI really is this big of a threat, why no sanctions on AI? Why doesn’t NATO destroy it? Do we want to be killed? Is it too late already?

AI is just another tool we will use to advance or destroy ourselves. Not all that much different than a hammer in that respect.
AI will do what it was created and taught to do.

Will bad or malicious code kill us all?

No, I'm very sure that it won't and can't.

We can shut down AI much faster than it can shut us down.

"AI will do what it was created and taught to do."

Exactly. AI isn't building and training itself.

Depends on what you mean by "us all". I don't think the capability exists. It might knock us way closer to the median number of individuals in our species since it emerged (less than 10 million alive at a time).

To the specifics of AI doing it. Doubtful. Lots of problems with that including AI agency. Besides, we are more robust than AI. Whatever tries to kill us off will hit AI computing power harder.
