Utopia Talk / Sports / Auburn SEC Champs?
McKobb
Member | Sat Nov 27 07:44:14 Auburn's last real obstacle to the the National Championship is the SEC championship game against Spurriers South Carolina Gamecocks on Dec 5th. Give Spurrier two tries and you're asking for trouble but that's what Auburn has to do to advance to the title game. Whoever they play there doesn't have a chance. So this game is the king maker. |

Sports Mod | Sat Nov 27 10:20:11 Auburn has a freaking horseshoe up their ass, but that's college football for you. If they do lose to SC it will be the funnyist thing I have seen all season. |
McKobb
Member | Sat Nov 27 20:39:11 How'd you like the Iron Bowl? Down 24-0 and they come back to win it 28-27 lol |
licker
Sports Mod | Sun Nov 28 09:31:42 I loved it. Any time Saban gets fucked is hilarious, and I really don't care which overrated SEC team goes on to get embarrassed by someone else. |
McKobb
Member | Sun Nov 28 11:25:01 SEC ain't overrated, son. If they ever make a play-off system you'll see that. |
Dakyron
Member | Sun Nov 28 16:02:23 I will enjoy watching Auburn get destroyed by Oregon in January. Assuming they even make it there. Oregon - TCU not quite as exciting. |
McKobb
Member | Sun Nov 28 23:44:21 Lmfao. Oregon? Hahaha, yeah right. I'm more worried about the rematch with spurriers team. |
Madc0w
Member | Tue Nov 30 21:34:56 Fucking Alabama...should have won. |
Dakyron
Member | Wed Dec 01 09:43:25 Well, after the championship game, when Oregon smacks around the vaunted SEC and beat them by 40 points, maybe you fools will finally shut up about being the best conference. At least for awhile... Didint Alabama lose to Utah two years ago? |
Palem
Person. | Wed Dec 01 09:52:24 They didn't lose to Utah. They got buttraped by Utah. |
McKobb
Member | Wed Dec 01 13:52:39 The SEC has won 6 of the last 12 nationt championship games. (Including the last four in a row) Hmmm SEC 6 AOC 6 (AOC=All Other Conferences) I guess we're even up. Auburn should pull the SEC over AOC this year. |
McKobb
Member | Wed Dec 01 13:53:19 http://www.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/12/01/auburn.newton/ Cam will play. |
chen
Member | Wed Dec 01 15:45:54 And the winner of the SEC has played in the championship game how many times? Congrats bud, you're winning a rigged contest. Like russian roullette with a fully loaded chamber and the other sap goes first. Newton playing is the biggest sellout of all. The NCAA is just looking the other way at the father soliciting money because they allegedly aren't sure if Newton was aware of his father committing a crime. The issue isn't whether or not he wanted money, but if cam was aware. The whole thing is disturbing. It just goes to show that the NCAA is far more concerned with letting this thing ride it's course then making the SEC team forfeit their ring in the end. That's what it takes to keep southern retard redneck SEC fans keep buying into a rigged system. Any other player in any other conference would have been gone by now. |
Palem
Person. | Wed Dec 01 15:50:36 Isn't it ironic how Masoli plays in the SEC now? |
McKobb
Member | Wed Dec 01 22:43:24 Rigged? And I sjuppose coming back from 24-0 against our instate rival and last years national chanps was rigged. Your tinfoil hat is crooked, son. |

Member | Thu Dec 02 00:12:20 Do you read? It doesn't matter which retard SEC team wins, as long as one of them does. If it's not auburn it will be someone else. The sportswriters only vote SEC teams and the NCAA buys into it so southern retards have something to hold on to in their meaningless lives. There's too much that doesn't add up about newton: Why do you think a player withdrew from one school over $180k signing fee and ended up playing at another one for free? Why is a receiver suspended a game at one school for accepting a few grand from an agent over a jersey and then a qb who asked for significantly more money allowed to play the full of the season? How does he not know what his father is doing? Why would boosters pay millions of dollars a year to a football program and not shell out a few extra dollars for a top tier talent? Why are kids told the actions of their parents reflected on them when it comes to taking bribes and then when push comes to shove they don't enforce their own rules? Give me a fucking break. Newton is dirty. Auburn is dirty. The NCAA is dirty. There's too much that doesn't add up and too much money at stake for this to be clean. |

Person. | Thu Dec 02 02:04:11 @ McKobb - Yes. In case you didn't notice, Bama stopped playing offense when they went up 24-0...just sayin. |
McKobb
Member | Thu Dec 02 02:38:51 That's Bama's pattern coming out strong then just try to stay on top. Didn't work with us. Chen is bitching like a little girl. Bring on the play-offs. |
Palem
Person. | Thu Dec 02 09:06:00 That or if Bama won, there wouldn't be an SEC team in the championship and we can't have that. And a playoff would be teh win |
McKobb
Member | Thu Dec 02 09:08:59 If you think Bama would take a fall for their rival then you're nuts, lol. They don't pay Saban 4 million a year to lose, especially not the Iron Bowl. |
Palem
Person. | Thu Dec 02 09:10:51 They pay Saban 4 million a year to make the SEC look like the best conference in football, which is what he DOESN'T do if he beats Auburn. |
Dakyron
Member | Thu Dec 02 09:15:10 All I know is that the SEC never plays anyone out of their own conference unless its Jacksonville St or some other creampuff, and then they claim how great they all are for beating the Citadel by 85 points. |
McKobb
Member | Thu Dec 02 09:35:09 Like Southern Cal? Which Auburn has played twice in the last 8 years (when reggie bush was with them) among other scrub teams |
Dakyron
Member | Thu Dec 02 09:38:27 And did they win those games? |
zombie jesus
Member | Thu Dec 02 09:41:51 Nope, but almost one the first one. But we win our bowl games. Beat North Western last year. |

Member | Thu Dec 02 21:13:20 A cheating team will do whatever it takes to justify their cheating. The cheaters' fans will tell themselves whatever makes them feel better. Newton cheated and isn't getting punished. What conclusion can someone who isn't a dilluted homer draw? |
McKobb
Member | Fri Dec 03 06:04:02 From what I've read his father along with an agent tried to get another team to pay for Newton without Cam's consent. Now where is the cheating in Auburn or Cam? |
licker
Sports Mod | Fri Dec 03 09:23:31 It may have nothing to do with Auburn, but there was a violation of an existing NCAA rule. That the NCAA decided to only punish is father is laughable, because it in no way dissuades parents from asking for whatever they want, so long as everyone 'says' the kid didn't know. I don't really know or care if Cam should be suspended or deemed ineligable for Auburn, but clearly the BCS and the NCAA have a large vested interested in having Auburn in the title game (money money money) and whether or not the team is ruled ineligible after the fact doesn't matter, because they will have already cashed the checks that suckers like you shell out on a dirty and rigged product. USC had their title stripped due to the Bush affair (which isn't that different from this one, and may well wind up identical when all the facts come out, years later of course). But does anyone really care? No, as far as anyone is concerned they still won that year, because Bush 'cheating' had nothing to do with his play or USCs play, and unless you are a complete retard, you know damn well that every freaking big name school is doing something illegal somewhere. So there's hypocrisy, and there's cheating, and it's just NCAA football, like it always is. Here's my prediction. Cam plays the rest of the season and Auburn gets tooled in the title game (so it won't matter so much). In a few years (like it took for the Bush investigation to finish) they will find Auburn violated the rules with Newton and they will retroactively forfeit those games and get slapped with some mostly meaningless penalty, and no one from the current team will suffer whatsoever. Thats not much of a prediction though, because it's pretty obvious that it will happen. |
McKobb
Member | Fri Dec 03 13:34:07 Hey...good luck with that prediction. |
licker
Sports Mod | Fri Dec 03 16:51:02 I don't need luck. It's a given, a guarantee if you like. It may take 4 or 5 years (like for USC) but it will come, and as I said, no one will care, and the NCAA can pat itself on the back telling everyone how they are doing a good job cleaning up the sport. Funny that some people will still believe them, and still hand over money for such a disgusting product. Well maybe hypocritical product is better. I get that if it's your school you care about the team, but hell, even so, you should be aware of what they are doing, what everyone else is doing, and how ultimately pointless it all is. |
McKobb
Member | Fri Dec 03 22:18:27 Sounds like sour grapes to me. It's called sports. Not just football and not just American sports. Regardless of any possible recruitment violations they still have to play the game. |
licker
Sports Mod | Sat Dec 04 00:19:32 Why would I have sour grapes? NCAA is garbage, and it's been garbage for a long time. My stance hasn't changed, I don't give a shit who wins this year, just like I haven't given a shit about who wins for several years. Sure, I like USC, well when Carrol was the coach, and sure, they cheated, and eventually got caught, but like you say, who cares? I didn't care, I liked watching them run a pro style offense exceptionally well. I don't like watching the rest of shitty college teams play like fucks, it's boring, and it's pointless, and you know all the schools are breaking the rules, but even when they get caught the NCAA isn't doing shit because they don't upset the cash cow. UCS probably should have had the death penalty, Auburn should probably face it as well, but nah, they'll wait for Northern Illinois to get busted and ax them. Great, who gives a fuck. So your point is that everyone cheats? Perhaps, but there's a difference in the way it is handled by the NCAA, the hypocrisy is beyond compare, and if you are a BCS school then hell, do whatever the hell you want. I prefer at least a semblance of equality in a sport I follow. Which is why NCAA sports are almost entirely unwatchable for me at this point, even when the teams I like do well. At least the basket ball has their march madness to liven things up with a few upsets, but it's been a loooong time since a real underdog did anything. And no, Butler didn't count. They have been a quality program for a long time. |

Member | Sat Dec 04 08:26:28 Wanna a tissue? I'ts football for christsakake. There are no older rivalries in football than college football. For instance Auburn has been playing Georgia since 1892. Hell, when my dad went to school here in the vietnam era he told me how they would grease the tracks making the train that brought the Georgia team take an extra mile or so to break, forcing the players to walk further. That's rivalry. |
licker
Sports Mod | Sat Dec 04 10:02:54 lol... So your 'defense' of a shitty product is to ask anyone who explains to you how shitty it is if they need a tissue? I've never been much of a NCAA guy, because the product has always been vastly inferior to the NFL, I don't follow your logic that it would upset me at all about anything which happens in the NCAA. *shrug* I'm just trying to have a discussion, you're overly defensive. Whatever. Enjoy Auburn getting blown out in the title game, and enjoy in 4-5 years when they get hit with some kind of penalties and have to forfeit all the games from this season. I know, the latter is irrelevant, I agree, all the more reason to enjoy it now if that's what floats your boat. |
McKobb
Member | Sat Dec 04 10:19:07 Maybe you should stick to sissy kick. |

Sports Mod | Sat Dec 04 11:55:18 Yes, because the NFL is sissykick. Wow, you told me. |

Member | Sun Dec 05 13:50:32 I doubt that, but who knows? Should be a good game which is why I'm buying tickets. |
Palem
Person. | Sun Dec 05 18:03:34 The score's gonna be like 77-63. |
Dakyron
Member | Mon Dec 06 09:08:22 I wonder how much decent tickets cost for the game, and how available they are. Should be a great game. |

Member | Mon Dec 06 09:13:54 Bowl predictions: Rose Bowl - Wisconsin 28 TCU 7 Fiesta Bowl - Oklahoma 45 UConn 0 Orange Bowl - Stanford 38 Va Tech 17 Sugar Bowl - Arkansas 28 Ohio State 24 BCS "Championship" - Oregon 58 Auburn 42 |
licker
Sports Mod | Mon Dec 06 22:04:54 TCU is going to absolutely destroy the little11 shit team. They will probably shut them out and score in the 30s themselves. |
Renzo Marquez
Member | Mon Dec 06 22:09:06 I wish they would have matched up Virginia Tech and UConn to make one shit game instead of ruining two BCS bowls. Also, TCU is going to get wrecked. Like Lil Davey's rectum wrecked after HR gets owned hardcore in UP. |
Dakyron
Member | Sun Dec 12 15:11:31 Cheapest tickets I could finde were $840 each. Not worth it. |
