Member | Sun May 01 21:46:07 "Miss some of you crazies!" UGT number one!! ;p .. "This place is a fucken retirement home" Always funny to see people negatively critique in a way that implicates themselves. With nhill dumping his vitriol here, he's indicating that he himself is in a "retirement home" and shitting his diaper. It's so easy to pretend that everyone else is the enemy. |

These people born after 2000 never had to have an honest argument with a 4chan autist in a censor-free discussion. Being able to block and dog-pile has made them mentally weak. Their bloodline is weak, and history will forget them >:p |

I believe the internet is in the latter phase of this cycle. But... will it be able to make a reversal soon? I feel like the silly snowflake censoring has peak in the near future. *popcorn* |
nhill
Member | Sun May 01 23:56:56 "has to peak", that is. |

Member | Fri Jun 24 16:56:28 Life is simultaneously awesome and challenging at the same time. My wife has mysterious health issues (nerve pain) and the USA healthcare system is a joke. We've been to 12 doctors so far and racked up over $30,000 in costs. Thankfully have okay insurance and only had to pay $3,000 out of pocket. But it's been tough, man. We homeschool the kids, travel a lot, and have a small homestead to manage. The awesome part is a managed to make enough money in my career to retire in my mid-30s, so we don't have financial stress (I live comfortably w/ 6 figures income off interest and dividends from investments). Every once and a while I'll take a contract or consultancy as a software engineer either out of boredom or to inject a bit more capital into our investments, but having freedom to do what I want, where I want (remote contracts), and enjoy life has been awesome. Up until we experienced the health issues that has grounded us and stretched me a bit thin managing the house. Congrats on fixing the washing machine. Feels good man. Our sprinkler system and water softener is broke. I can fix the latter, most likely, but for now it's disconnected. *mental note to do that this week* Glad you're doing fine. Time is the eternal struggle. |

Patron | Fri Jul 01 14:34:20 Nice to be able to retire in your mid-30s, I must be doing something wrong :P Should save you some time :) Sucks for the health issues though :( I assume still no solution, as they're mysterious? Washing machine wasn't really broken, but clogged so I get to remove the top, front and display to remove some laundry we'd been missing for a few weeks already. I sent a picture to my gf of our dismantled washing machine, which freaked her out a bit :P Of course I only sent it after I put everything back together and had it running again :) Why the travel? Out of choice or necessity? A colleague of mine is having a 6 month holiday and travelling around Europe with wife and 2 kids in a motorhome. Kind of makes me dream about a different life :P |

Member | Fri Jul 01 18:03:16 I got lucky, is all. Some choice investments a few years back paid off more than expected! I've always been the type to save and invest, but it took a while for it to really take off. As for travel, we love to travel in the RV around the USA. We do it with 4 kids in a motorhome. It can be cramped on rainy days, for sure. :O But if you get the opportunity to try it, it's a fun lifestyle. The hardest thing for me is missing the reliability of things like hot water, electricity, laundry etc. Which of course we still get but it's not as simple as turning a faucet. :) >Of course I only sent it after I put everything back together and had it running again :) Lol! I know the feeling. And that manly feeling of "Yes, Honey, I Have Fixed All The Things" ;) Happy to hear from ya |

Member | Fri Jul 01 18:06:36 Oh, and yeah the health issues are still not solved. We just haven't found the root cause. She's limited to a wheelchair most of the time due to intense nerve pain, and she's always tired from painkillers. It's sad to see. The current working theory among the medical staff is that it may be a rare virus (kinda like Shingles), but nothing has showed up in the usual tests. We are probably going to move temporarily to get her the best medical care in the USA at Mayo Clinic. They're setup much better where all the specialists know and work together on a day-to-day basis. Part of our problem getting answers is specialists are all located in different areas because the best ones have a 1 year waiting list. Fingers crossed... |

Member | Tue Jul 19 11:55:12 nhill, I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. Medical troubles are hard enough when people know the diagnosis. I can't imagine the mental strain of not even having that to work off of. If you've already moved, I hope they provide you with the clarity you need. And assuming NightBloom comes back to check on this thread, HI NIGHTBLOOM! I miss you!! |

Member | Tue Jul 19 14:52:06 Thanks Carly. She's been getting better lately and is mostly out of the wheelchair unless we are on our feet for a while. Still no results on what the illness is, tho, so I'm concerned. Haven't moved yet, still considering it. Great to hear from you <3 |

Patron | Sat Jul 30 01:26:54 With 4 kids in a motorhome? 2 is enough for me! And I don't have a motorhome, but that's something for the future. Good to hear your wife is getting better lately, hopefully you'll find the root cause soon and a solution of course. Until then, I hope you can enjoy the good things of life despite the shitty situation :) |

Member | Fri Sep 23 16:23:15 Simp is an internet slang term describing someone who shows excessive sympathy and attention toward another person, typically someone who does not reciprocate the same feelings, in pursuit of affection or a sexual relationship. :D <3 NB |

Member | Fri Sep 23 16:31:07 Oh I should update on my wife. She is getting better. It turned out to by psychosomatic due to stress. There were many things outside our control (deaths in our extended family) that exacerbated things to the point of her immune system attacking her lower spine. Armed with that knowledge, we have fixed it. She is about 90% recovered and can walk normally again. This process took about 6 weeks after we began to get the stress abated, as nerve damage takes time to heal. But, I am selfish, and simply happy that the trend is on the mend. She still has significant intermittent pain, and it will take a couple years to fully heal. |

Member | Fri Sep 23 16:33:46 And, of course, I am in love my wife more than life itself. I love NB. Just as a person. It's my form of expressing admiration for what a wonderful character she has. I am IN LOVE (and of course love, she is my best friend) with my wife. Night and day difference. :) I don't say "I love you" to my wife. I say "I'm in love with you". Very important distinction in my eyes. |

Innocent | Wed Nov 23 10:21:41 I love you as a person too as do I many of the folks I have met in this forum. I'm grateful for life my friend. So glad your wife is well! |
