This anti-LL article gives a sad notice about LiveLeak's re-direct to ItemFix.com: "Rather than evaluating graphic media on a "case by case basis," Itemfix explicitly prohibits "excessive violence or gory content."" ( http://mashable.com/article/liveleak-dead-shut-down/ ) ..re-branding into a generic video site with a generic phishing-sounding name.. so basically, who cares? ;p I get that the author of that article thinks it's just morbid gore-seeking like "Faces of Death", but LL really was invaluable when it came to getting quick links to videos that networks were censoring or editing. Unedited video has become more and more important.. Sites like LL may be common (and much more violent sites definitely exist), but those sites tend to pop up and get taken down or don't have any sort of organization. Twitter works for short videos, but the moderation gets to them more quickly. Oh well. RIP ;p

I'm pretty sure that 99% of my knowledge of Brazil's criminality came from LiveLeak ;D "itemfix looks awful :p, too much white, and seems sluggish" DarkMode add-ons can at least help with the white (how it looks for me using "Dark Reader" in Firefox: http://i.imgur.com/OT5yTQ9.png ), but they have lots of work to do. ..I just checked, and they did not transfer user accounts (mine didn't work, anyways), so they kind of sabotaged themselves there. ..also weird that they went for a single video stack with such wide spacing between videos. It looks like a mobile website. Their "About" page currently says, "Please note that we are currently still in BETA and will constantly be adding new features and improvements to the site", so maybe they'll gradually become LiveLeak again ;D
